Hate to defend Boozer but this is his version:
"There was no commitment, no handshake," Boozer insisted this
week, stating correctly that it would have been illegal under the
    collective bargaining agreement
. "I'm a man of my word, and the
only commitment I gave was to Utah, and I kept that commitment."

Also let's not forget Utah was offering $27 million more

this is nothing like the Boozer situation
It's like it in the sense that the public perception will be he broke his word. Will it be as bad? Probably not.

Are you saying Mark Cuban is Monica Lewinsky?
They kind of have similar hairstyles.

It's a FACT Deandre agreed to Dallas Deal.

It's NOT A FACT that Boozer agreed anything with Cavs as that woulda been tampering with CBA.

    Sorry nothing like it

Sources: Clips responded to Jordan expressing doubt on decision. Griffin, Re may be in Houston w/ Doc today. Dallas fortifying response.

according to Ramona Shelburne this was all started by DJ and not the Clippers. She is reporting this started on Monday when DJ started having second thoughts and HE called Doc.

I hate the mavs and their fans so I hope he backs out.

It was a wink-wink situation with the Cavs (which probably shouldn't have been done), and then Boozer booked for money in Utah...so, it was shady all around...I think the only takeaway is that Boozer pulled one over a blind guy...

This could be a serious kick in the nuts to the Mavs organization.

Yeah, nobody came out good in that deal. But it does tell you something about Boozer's character. One of the reason's I was happy he was never a Spur. (That and I've never been impressed with his on court play, either. Especially last 5 years)

How about this: DJ goes back, Dallas protests but left with a wrecked (?) roster, Silver punishes Clippers for conduct detrimental to the league (or something similarly vague and wide reaching), DJ goes into a mental funk over what he's done, Clippers chemistry is permanently poisoned...

Not sure who to root for. DeAndree away from the Clips weakens them, probably pulling them out of contender status. But I don't think raises Dallas to contender status. So, probably better for the Spurs if he goes.

Tampering with the CBA or not, it's quite clear that when one party gives up an advantage to the other party, there must have been a previous agreement. Much like RJ or Wade opting out of millions. Even though that was also in breach of the CBA, it was clear they had reached an agreement with the respective team. It would have sucked big time if the Spurs or Heat had reneged on it.

sorry to insist. But NO it doesn't tell anything about Boozer's character. We don't know what happened between Boozer and Cavs. A conversation? a wink? or nothing? Plus it would have been tampering anyway.

As we can't prove Boozer did anything wrong. He's innocent.

Boozer was under contract to Cleveland. He had a team option on his last year. Cleveland agreed not to exercise the option, so they could re-sign him to a new deal. Both sides agreed to this in advance. When Cleveland let him out of the contract, instead of signing a new one with them as agreed, he signed with Utah.

In short, AT BEST, he broke his word and suckered Cleveland. At worst, he lied to get out of his contract, then broke his word and suckered Cleveland.
    Thanks

we can only assume this happened. As we can't prove it, we cannot judge the players character. Thus player is innocent.

The ends don't justify the means. You support this kind of move, and someday it will hurt our team. Stick to principles first.

The unwritten rules exist to preserve the integrity of the game and encourage responsibility, and facilitate prudent planning by teams. Plenty of rules are "unwritten", like being an honest teammate that doesn't lie to everyone, or not leaking a team's dirty laundry to the press at every chance. DJ is showing a profound immaturity in this process. Why does he call Doc for advice? Why not his new team? Who is giving this guy objective advice?

That is logically flawed. As NOBODY can prove what the did, NOBODY can judge him on it.

Jordan will be dumb to go to the Mavs. He was suckered into the Mavs' message that he will be better featured there. Jordan thrives with Griffin and Paul feeding him the ball. If DJ has any illusions that he'll be dominant in the low post, he's going to very disappointed.

Also why give up 2 surefire all star teammates to play with an old Nowitzki and two unproven wings?
