I agree. I feel really bad for the Mavs because they really don't have a back up plan. This is not right.

The only way they ever won anything was because Michael Jordan is a worse front office executive than MC. Total fluke le for Dallas as it turns out. Asterisk situation of the highest order.
Once again the Mavies flawed FO hierarchy bites them. I would consider this Jordan cluster a self inflicted wound because Dallas continues to ignore drafting and player development. The Mavericks probably babied Jordan and promised him things they could not deliver anyway. Cuban overplayed his hand (again) and called Jordan a guy who can be "the face" of the Mavericks franchise for years to come. You don't hand over the car keys of an NBA franchise to a mental midget.
Mr. Cuban refuses to put the work/emphasis/effort into locating, drafting, developing, and retaining home grown talent. Dirk is the last guy to work out in the draft while the Spurs have their draft picks not only on their team, but many other guys SA drafted originally are scattered all over the league and playing roles.
The Spurs, for the first time, went out and bought a player outright. The years and years of effective planning, drafting and coaching paid off in getting LMA to come here.

This is a good thing for the Mavs in the long-term. They overrated Jordan as a way to patch over a rotting lineup. This will let them tank faster and rebuild faster.
Jordan's word ain't worth . Sets a bad tone for future players.

DJ not signing is good for the Mavs in the long run. They were gonna be pretenders. However, this may signal the end of Dirk's playoff career as a Maverick.
I agree. I have no idea why the Mavs would even sign Jordan to a max contract. They sure as weren't going to ring with him anytime soon and he's to weak offensively to build around.
Maybe he needs to be on meds....Maybe he needs to be ins utionalize.... Maybe he's just not in his right mind for the moment....But sports can always use fans like this.:

This is the absolute truth. DJ is made. His word means nothing. First he ran away from the "tyrant" Chris Paul who would not give him high fives. Then calls to say he's having second thoughts about a decision he made. Does he think that he's gonna be welcome back with open arms. to the contrary he's a punk that could not make up his mind. Not to mention that the entire league is going to see him for the sackless piece of trash that he is.
