Relax folks, he's a 3rd string PG. People acting like we got Reggie Jackson to come off the bench or something.![]()
asked around, kings fans say his calling card is his defense. they also say the spurs are the perfect place for him to thrive (though tbh thats a trendy thing to say about virtually any lower tier player in the nba)

This guy was ranked 81 out of 84 among PG's in the NBA in real plus-minus, worse than SpursTalk's favorite player.
It is. That is the Sprus MO my man. Anyone who does well against SA, gets SAs interest. "Hmmmmm, we are bad ass, if they can do that to us, they too are bad ass and we want them".
In this case it's aces. They paid an unknown 2nd rounder for a guaranteed NBA player (at least at this point). That's a no risk, no brainer trade and lol Kings for doing the right thing and drafting Ray, but then negating that good move by dumping him for nada![]()
so they have rondo and collison, and John Stockon's son now. Probably could have gotten more for McCallum though.
Oh yeah, it's not a big deal. Like $400k tops.
Solid pick up for a 3rd string PG. His ORPM and DRPM were pretty bad, his defense especially terrible, but he was playing for a joke of an organization. Hopefully he can contribute, he looks like an NBA player, had some good games last year. He's young and has some decent potential, probably better than anything else we could get.
Ray mccallum better option than a washed-up ball hog miller..now a backup C rim-protector and 3pt gunner and call it an off season..
This offseason could still be a disaster tho.

looks like 947k this year.
Year Age Base Salary Cap Hit Dead Cap 2013-14 22 $524,616 $524,616 $1,341,098 2014-15 23 $816,482 $816,482 $816,482 2015-16 24 $947,276 $947,276 - 2016-17 25 $1,184,095 $1,184,095 - 2016 RFA
Well, at least we got him for basically nothing. Wing depth and a backup C are more pressing needs than a 3rd-string PG, though.
I don't know much about him but a lot of people on Twitter are losing their saying the Spurs totally swindled Sacramento. Apparently we have a solid 3rd point guard again.
cutewizard, never change
Can't wait for the season to start. 2 more spots to fill.
Hopefully Chip can work a little magic on his jump shot. He's only a career 33% 3-point shooter. Hopefully can push that up to 36 or 37% next season.
Uuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmwwwwaaahhh Sir Goobernuts! im so happy, hehehehe
But replacing CJ was important. Guard depth with TP questionable (decline? health? comeback?) and Manu/Patty as the only other guys you trust made this a big deal. Can't pass up on this chance to get someone that looks to have ability for that cost. Even if he busts its an A++ trade.
In the meantime, he can play defense, penetrate and dish, and not turn the ball over. I'd be okay with that.
He's an RFA this upcoming summer, and his QO would be $1.2 Million. He's not actually under contract after this season.
