One More Question for Detroit Fans

rasheed wallace is few techs away from being suspended for alot of games, he has nearly reach the limit of 18 tech fouls and every tech results in a hefty suspension.

The Spurs and the Pistons are both in a tricky spot. Neither team particularly needs HCA over their conference opponents. I happen to think both clubs could advance to the finals no matter what their seeds were. So in that respect, both clubs should be thinking about resting their starters and taking it easy for a bit.

However, the reason both must play so hard and scratch and claw like a team just trying to sneak into the playoffs is because of the prospect of facing each other in the finals. Whoever gets the HCA will lets face it, be the decided favorites to win it all. Could the team without HCA beat the other? It could. But I think it's unlikely.

So whenver the Spurs or the Pistons lose a game, any game, the fans aren't really panicking because of what happened that day, but rather because of what it means in to the big picture in June. I mean, just because you lost one game to the Knicks or the Hawks, so what? Everybody knows you'd squash a team like that in the playoffs.

So the paradox of this season plays on. I think fans of both teams would be a lot more patient and relaxed about the occasional speed bump if the top team in the other conference had a record that was 6 or 7 games worse and HCA was already assured.

We have 17 games remaining to the season, and you have get 2 techs after the first suspension before the player is suspended again. Meaning, that if Rasheed has 18 techs today, and averages 1 per game for the rest of the season, we're only talking about 6 games that he is suspended.

Minor point of order; the suspensions start with tech #16, not 18. Sheed's at 14 (he's actually received 17, but two were rescinded, and a "hanging-on-the-rim" one doesn't count towards the limit).

His techs could be the thing that ends the Pistons' streak of always starting the same 5; they should break the record tonight, but the way things are going they'll only move the mark up a little higher. Not that there's any award for it.

The whole thing resets when the playoffs start, so the issue is kind of moot.

Not nervous at all...if you could watch this team day in and day out...along with seeing them at practice and interacting with them after the game...you would not be worried. They are on cruise control and they play to the level of their compe ion. Very common with great teams this point in the season...
