I wouldn't say they haven't "disappointed."

The only players that have looked rotation material consistently are Butler/Ray both of whom should get minutes as a backup wing & 3rd string PG (very important considering Porker is the starter). Kyle/Bonner/Boban aren't going anywhere so the only position of need is a wing defender (Simmons/Reggie); Deshaun/Jimmer are as good as gone. Ndoye is a decent project player but he has no touch around the rim & is terrible at setting picks.
Nobody's gonna hop Rasual Butler's tonight? He was only 0-6.
Edit: Sorry I didn't see that Apo Sock was riding that tonight, after all.
Yea, that 0-6 for Butler and -19 for McCallum was just magical!
He rebounded the ball & was at the right spot on offense, he just missed shots that he usually makes. He wasn't dribbling the ball off his feet, getting stuffed on a jump-shot, trying to do too much on offense or getting toyed w/ on defense like Jimmer
Depends on your definition of "disappoint". Boban's everything I expected he would be. He won't move the needle in either direction and he has no shot at the rotation. Simmons is vying for a spot in the rotation and he looks like anything but a rotation player thus far.
I think Reggie's spot is pretty much up for grabs, and we're definitely going to need one of Reggie/Simms/Fredette to stick around due to both Tony and Manu getting some nights off.
Butler was definitely better than Jimmer. But he has to defend fours better. He fouled every time he was posted up. He's too big and too old for that.
He clanked I don't know how many non-corner threes; just missed them badly.
This for real?
It will be interesting the last few games to see who makes it. Even after not so great performances I might lean Jimmer. My reasoning is when I watch the offense...even when he isn't hitting his shot, His man really plays him. Other guys don't get that. He takes up a space. He could suck next game but in the realm of suckiness tonight I thought he was ok.
we have a pretty sad bottom of the team. I mean the coach literally doesn't care to watch. That is too funny.
We should have a fantastic Top ten and the worst bottom 5 in years. Interesting mix...
Williams & Butler are redundant since they are both shooters, Williams is a mediocre defender so I don't see him making the rosters as the designated backup "wing defender". Landry Fields is still available & used to be a 3-&-D guy but his career came crashing after the Raptors gave him a fat contract he was never able to live up to, maybe Pop could revive his career since he's still relatively young.
Welp, looks like Landry Fields is rehabbing: "Becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2015, Fields sustained a hip injury during the off-season that required surgery, sidelining him from basketball-related activities for five months"

It will be ok if we can stay reasonably healthy. We just need hustlers to fill out the roster. Guys who can fake it for a few games.
My take from tonight's game:
Manu, Duncan and Patty look great!
Kawhi looks amazing also, but needs to stop forcing things at times.
Bonner sucks.
Parker needs to settle down a bit, but looks like he is taking on that distributor role a lot of y'all want him to take.
Green's shot will come around, defense is good.
West is going to be a really good player off the bench for of us if he can knock down those mid range shots, like he has against us in the past. Him and LA are going to get those open all game long.
I have been impressed with Boban against the Kings and Hawks game especially defensively. I think when he gets more used to the NBA speed, I think he will calm down a bit and his hands will get better on offense.
Anderson is most effective on pick n rolls, and on the block. Outside of that he dribbles too much on isolation plays and not very good then.
McCallum needs to settle down a bit also, but like how he gets to the rim.
Simmons has been disappointing.
Butler may have the advantage over Jimmer because he is bigger need, and plays better defense but Butler didn't shoot too great tonight, and Jimmer made a few nice plays getting to the basket even if he traveled on the last play
Reggie Williams looks like he is the only one deep on the bench that can knock down a NBA three, and can score so he will probably make the team based on that.
Ndoye, Sykes and Thomas are probably going to be the first three that get cut.
Rumor is they won't actually land in Utah, just circle around above Salt Lake, jettison something, then fly back to SA.
I really really think, they will keep Butler. Personally i would take Simmons over Williams, but at this point really don't know. Williams is terrible on defense, really really bad, slow unathletic and just bad. He can shoot, so I think they are giving him an extra look. Simmons has always had ballhandling issues, and his game depending on dribble drives its a problem. Reluctant to shoot and not making any jumpers he takes, but defensively he's been better than Williams, and he can for sure pass. I would take him and hope he can do something at least about his shooting.
/rofl
you got me BillMc

Outside of Green and Leonard, this team defends the three very poorly. That's a problem considering the Spurs only have two three point specialists of their own (Mills, Green) and if one or both go into prolonged slumps, this team could get clowned from behind the arc.
