he gone...................
Two updates from 24/7...
-DT Glen Logan of Destrehan, LA will make an official visit to Texas. He is a teammate of DT Gerald Wilbon, so it's possibly just a weekend in Austin.
-WR Davion Curtis of Temple will officially visit UT on December 12th.
Here is the press conference from today.
One of the weirder aspects was it only being seven minutes long as opposed to the usual 30 minutes.
The confusion is over the fact that the national media and Orangebloods, apparently, thought it was an impromptu press conference. All the other sites seemed aware that it was a normal media availability. John Bianco said Texas had been holding media availability on the pre-Thanksgiving bye week for 23 years. I don't know if that's true, but they did hold one last year. And the funny thing is the first question at that press conference was whether Strong was interested in the Florida job, and he gave nearly the exact same answer.
Personally, I think OB is all-in on getting Strong out and was stirring the pot by pretending the press conference was unexpected and thus that something is afoot -- exactly the response they've gotten.
Agree, they are looking pretty desperate right now running with this story. I have no doubt Strongs agent was contacted, but so were many other active coaches this time of year with coaching vacancies.
All I know to me, is something just don't seem right. Strong's not the same Strong? How hard is it to come out and say " I'm 100 % not going to Miami"? Don't beat around the bush.
Quotes from DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles of New Orleans, LA (24/7):
“Things have been moving really fast with Texas,” Christmas-Giles said. “I’ve talked to the coaching staff a lot lately. They’ve been telling me that I’m having a really good senior year, and that I can be a good fit. I like Texas a lot.”
“We’ve built a good relation really fast,” Christmas-Giles said. “We talk all the time. He’s (Coach Haley) always available. I know Coach Haley has a lot of coaching experience. I think I could learn a lot from him. He’s a guy I would like to play for.”
“That’s my dude (Peyton Aucoin) right there,” Christmas-Giles said. “We talk all the time. I played against him and have a lot of respect for him. He just tells me that Texas is a great program. He wants me to consider it, and I am.”
Damnit... The largest bright spot of the team is the one guy hurt.
Let. It. Go.
, another fun offseason...
It's going to be bananas if Texas loses these last two.
Losing only breathes life into these rumors.
WR Davion Curtis of Temple has flipped to Texas:

Great news. Stay another year in Houston and he can be an excellent option if Strong leave a year from now.
Never ever Saban.
EVER.
The Dude will not abide and neither will I.
Dont ruin fandom for the disenfranchised, the meek, the hungry...
Jesus just don't even write about it.
Update on RB Devwah Whaley from 24/7...
A source tells them that Whaley to UT "is going to happen", especially now that WR Davion Curtis has flipped his commitment.
Things are currently UT way out in front with Arkansas a distant second. Georgia is out.
Whaley is supposed to officially visit UT on December 12th with Curtis and he'll be announcing at the Under Armour game (along with OL Jean Delance).
Also from 24/7, A&M put an offer on the table today for DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles.
They will receive an official visit and he's very interested.
T Floss,
Your opinion please (given you are in the loop on this stuff).
I mentioned I have a nephew at playing football Pitt in a previous post. He walked on a year ago (he red shirted in 2014). Now he is getting on the field playing special teams as a RS FR. Would it be a reasonable possibility that Pitt offers a scholly next spring if he is actually playing now or do the coaches hold off on that stuff until later on? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
It's interesting that my nephew made it on the field at Pitt before the much ballyhooed Jake Oliver at UT (both played at Dallas Jesuit), who looks like an afterthought with the new coaching staff......
