It's arguably the best move for him to make in regards to how the mainstream media/casual fans/general morons view his legacy, which he clearly cares about, IMO. The Cavs aren't good enough to beat GSW or SA, but aren't bad enough to lose to any team in the East. He's destined to lose in the finals and lose even more respect from SportstalkJoe, NotBillWalton, FakeSportscenter, etc. Sit out this season, wait until the next when GSW should be tired, coming off likely back to back championship runs, and SA another year older.

He only needs to bring one le to that hole to "cement his legacy", "prove that he is mentally tough", "go down as truly an all-time great" anyway.
