I am impressed by Simmons in his interviews, too. He seems unusually comfortable and natural in front of the camera for a newbie to the spotlight. Easy to see why Pop is high on the guy - good BBIQ and skill, and very good off-court presence. I really hope he continues at this trajectory. I know a lot of posters want to correlate his age and ceiling in a negative way, but I think his ceiling is pretty darn high.
    He is quite impressive.
I was surprised. Very pleasant character it seems.

From the interviews that I've seen, he seems like an awesome guy. If anyone has a link to his post game interview from tonight, please post it as I would like to watch it.

Makes me wonder about the locker room dynamic, especially from the Simmons angle.

Of all the good things Simmons did, he got to the FT line 7 times. That's a pet stat of mine, and something the Spurs are sorely lacking. A guy who can get to the line is a huge addition. It means he's pushing the opponents hard enough that they feel like they have to foul him. And the ability to make points with the clock stopped is huge when the team is behind at the end of games. That will get him playoff minutes if he can keep it up.

I have now seen him in several post-game interviews dating back to SL. He as impressed me in every one of them, and in each one I am impressed over and beyond the prior one. I really hope he becomes a real core guy for The Spurs TNG.

i agree. The things he can improve on are very coachable.... Outside shooting, better handles, NBA defense...... All of these things will get much better with experience and NBA coaching. If he had been getting NBA coaching all of this time at his age and wasn't great at these things then you would say he plateaued ..... But he hasn't been.

i expect we see a pretty special player this time next year. On the cheap, too.

Hopefully GSW loses tonight or a few more soon. If we went 3-1 against them we would be at 33-7 and they would be 32-5 not counting any other future games of course. If we swept them it would be us 34-6 and them 31-6. We already control our own destiny against them!

Kawhi is 11 of 14 on threes his last 5 games!

Based on the on the court interactions I've seen... The vets love him.
