So you're saying Rasual Butler would grow about 4-5 inches and play PF/C??
He's insurance for Tony. But I really think Ray was very lost in the offense and unable to act as a PG to start the season. Both Simmons and Anderson could bc 2 and 1 yrs. In the system respectively + SL stints. Ray had none of that and it showed. But he's more a combo guard than Simmons who is more a true wing with SG size. I think Ray could play the 2 in some matchups. I actually saw him deal with Oladipo much better than Simmons did. I definitely can see him playing more next season if he's still here and it seems like he will. We could be much worse for a 3rd string PG.

He can stay and rot in SacTown. Not paying that contract for a liability on defense. He makes Simmons look like Bruce Bowen on D given he's that bad.
Tbh, I have not seen Leuer play. How do you rank him and the Plumlee boys?
I'm not.
Butler is closer to being a PF than SF in today's league and considering his age, tbh..
One of the most overrated players in the NBA, tbh..
You don't really need a true SF when Kawhi is going to be playing heavy minutes. Rasual will be fine playing backup against guys like Matt Barnes, Brandon Rush, Wes Johnson, Kyle Singler..etc.If MCW is on the roster he can play the 3 against someone like Iggy.
But SVG gets the best out of these guys...
Leuer can shoot the ball & put it on the floor which is something the Plumlee boys aren't capable of doing on a consistent basis. The best comparison I got for you is Patrick Patterson of the Raptors. He has been misused like Channing Frye was early on in his career b/c he's a stretch 4 that isn't being used as a stretch 4.

Would be strange to just bail out of his contract like that. I wouldn't want Ersan if I were the Magic (though I'd want him next year if I were the Spurs), so this does just seem to be about his nearly fully non-guaranteed deal. Jennings would help them this year, but I also can't see him being re-signed. Strange trade, as I think Harris would net more.

Actually a huge deal. If it is just a little higher, the Spurs will be in the conversation for a max slot, provided they dump the ballast to get there. Even if they don't, they could have a good $15 Million in cap space.
I was aware of that when I made the Noah suggestion, dude can't possible get more than 12-14 mill until he proves his health.
I'm not a fan of scoring SFs that don't do anything else at a high level(although I guess Harris is a pretty decent rebounder IIRC), but ya, that's a pretty awful return..
Seems like a Scott Skiles move, though..IIRC, he wasn't a fan of Harris in Milwaukee, either..
Sounds like it's almost a done deal.
Marcus Morris has been asking to play the 4 more, so this makes sense, in that regard..
Drummond
Morris
Harris
KCP/Johnson
Jackson
Pretty nice starting unit, if they can put it together..could win some games in the 1st round..
Sucks for Elfrid Payton..
As a fan of the Magic's young core I was hoping they dump Harris for a center & start Gordon (I guess the dunk compe ion paid off)
This just shows the Magic have no clue what the they're doing
I like this deal more for DET than for ORL, but I understand ORL moving Harris.
per ESPN, Pistons trade Jennings and Ilyasova to Orlando for Tobias Harris... SIAP
Jennings has an expiring contract & they did the deal to dump Harris. Payton is fine since Skiles like defensive PGs as Kirk Hinrick proved.
They just have to now decide whether to pay Fournier or trade him along w/ Jennings expiring contract or Illyasova.

Does anyone in that lineup shoot over 35% from 3?![]()
Whether you think Harris is solid or not, you got to respect SVG as a GM. He turned that franchise around. Look where they were headed under Dumars. It's impressive. Bold leader. I don't doubt they will be better because they didn't give up much. Ilyasove was a resurrection project and they already have Jackson so they didn't need another starting quality pg.
