    You CLEARLY forgot they gave up a 1st rd pick (Ezeli) when you came up w/ the "re-sign him to trade him" narrative as if that could not have been achieved with an expiring contract. According to Chump (how fitting): multi year contract > expiring (I wonder how the Worriers suddenly found takers for David Lee's sizable EXPIRING contract but the Wolves couldn't find takers for Kevin Martin's "team friendly" contract...I'm pretty sure it isn't the opt-in clause).

    I get the logic of Varejao picking them, but I still view it as a smack in the face and as such, would no longer pursue him in the summer, as a potential West replacement.

    I think the Spurs pursuit was more an indication that they're uncertain of Duncan's health for the remainder of the season, than having another option to break up the West-Diaw pairing.
