Range and shooter...great choice of words. In relation to my earlier post, it's why I get bored with slam dunks and layups. For a long time now, and I know this sounds crazy, but I think dunks and layups should be 1 point; 2 points within the foul line, 3 points outside the foul line, and 4 points at the now 3 point area. Obviously to encourage more shooting
I'll quit watching basketball if they make scoring like that
This is more up your alley.
Would be the dumbest thing to ever happen to the game and I guarantee the NBA would lose followers![]()
Lakers would ensure this top pick with Kirby going 1/10 for 4pt fg every night
Disagree its a great idea...we need excitement in the game....for as much as Tim Duncan offered the game he did nothing to bring excitement to the game and to grow the game like Steph, Magic, Bird, Isaiah Thomas, MJ, Shaq and Kobe....this is another knock on Duncan....
I agree with my friend Wylie's proposal![]()
Seriously. Half of Duncan's point probably came off of his 15 ft bank shot. That's 2 points. Shaq, 90% of the points come with 5-6 ft of the bucket. Shaq would go way down the scoring list if this happen and Karl Malone would more than likely be the all time leading scorer, STILL A PF. Knocking on Duncan and praising Shaq with idea that would hurt Shaq's legacy even more. Kool w/ the goods.
Jumping on the GS bandwagon because the Lakers are DEAD LAST in the WC right now. Couldn't have dream this up as Kobe's final season.
next up from op: big s are actually bad source says. Small s are now better.
Op has gone crazy that type of proposal would make true bigman obsolete.
MTV did things like that when they did their celebrity basketball games. The NBA wants to be like MTV
NBA has been like MTV for a while
While we are at how about we go by North Korea's dictator Kim Jong's basketball rules.
Everybody knows that slam dunks are awesome. In North Korea, they’re even more awesome, worth three points rather than two.
Distance shots—taken from past the arc around the basket—are still worth three points. However, if the shooter makes the goal without the ball touching the rim, a “swish” or “nothing but net,” the three-pointer becomes a four-pointer.
When Shaquille O’Neal played in the NBA, opposing teams developed a strategy called “hack-a-Shaq”: intentionally fouling O’Neal late in a close game so he’d have to take free throws, of which he had a less than 50 percent success rate. This would have been a bigger problem for O’Neal if he’d played in North Korea—points are deducted for missed free throws.
Talk about a buzzer-beating, come-from-behind victory: A successful shot taken from anywhere on the court during the final three seconds of a game is worth eight points.
Games can end in ties. The one Rodman saw ended with a score of 110 to 110.

league would be ed and spurs and warriors would have 10/10 les straight.. it would suck though
Breaking news: Missing the playoffs is actually a sign of greatness
