Love Barkley clowning Reggie Miller about how Memphis will show up at home. Series is exactly what you expected. Hope theses guys don't relax too much in preparation for the next round. But rest should be good with these games being blowouts. No need to play extended minutes and get injuries

Meh, I don't think we'll get challenged in this series. That's when you're going to see if the team has the mettle or not... IMO
I know 100% SA won't get challenged this series. That's my concern. This should be a series used to build on things and gain confidence. There should be no one confident about the offense after what we have seen. Still have 2 games to work things out, but if we don't see something in the next two games from the SL I will go into full no confidence mode.

I'm a believer in doing things that are repeatable. Sa's offense against great opponents and now terrible opponents has been really really mediocre and it scares me projecting beyond this joke of a series.

I believe they were talking about Fathead at the same time Boban was taking FTs.

I mean, the starters shot 14 of 37 (38%) against a middle of the road defense. If we had not seen the SL struggle vs good teams, I would dismiss it. But this SL offense is in some kind of major funk. They struggle against everyone to end the season and have not found any sort of "fix" despite playing a joke of a defense.
I honestly think that much of the problem with the SL offense is that there are so many iso plays anymore, the one-time 'beautiful game' just doesn't occur. You hardly ever see a loop play being used any more, and everybody who gets the ball puts it on the floor before they decide what they are going to do next. I think it is a purposely different offense that is designed to play to the strengths of LMA and KL, but it is far slower and there is far less movement than we are accustomed to seeing. And when our main guys are missing shots (like they were tonight), it just looks bad.

The Griz played very physical, and Kyle played tough against that, and hustled for loose balls. He forced some fouls that kept possessions from stalling. I'm less concerned right now with him missing some shots on any given night, than seeing that he's up to playing tough in the playoffs. A lot of people screaming about him tonight, but I wasn't disappointed.
    Good review.

And those rebounds were hard fought. Also, he always gets deflections.... it seems he gets more than he's credited.... someone else grabbed the loose ball.he's disruptive. Fur sure he's not in the rotation just bc he's a nice kid and Pop likes him. He got more aggressive after Pop yelled at him and pushed him. Will need more of that. He also had a very nice pass to Tim inside but Timmy turned it over.
Rebounding is the aspect of the game where Kyle HAS stepped up his intensity and aggression. That's a good sign. He also showed good footwork tonight, staying in front of a much quicker Lance Stephenson on a few occasions. His detractors here on ST do not recognize how fundamentally sound the guy is.

I don't want to see our C game any more this series. Spurs need to go to Memphis and take a on them in games 3 and 4. 40-50 point wins.

For all the moaning and groaning tonight on this board, and even with the game being essentially boring, the final score for the spurs was only 12 points less than the first game, and folks were pretty happy with that game. The first game was just more dramatic, at least until about two minutes into the third quarter.

. I'm not trying to rain on the parade. Even though this series sucks, I'm enjoying winning. I just can't help but look beyond this series. There is still time to find a groove and hopefully plenty of practice time as well after to prepare for OKC. Just has me nervous.

Not about the results. About how it happens, whether it's close or a blowout. The defense is on point, but if it was not against one of the worst offensive playoff teams in history we should be freaking out. Good news is, the guys are putting in the effort and doing their work early.

Bodes well for the mindset. Getting tons of rest and winning with defense. That is bankable.

Frankly, he showed quicker feet than anybody will concede. He stayed in front of Lance on several occasions very well. As usual, he had very active hands. I thought he played an overall pretty good game. His shot is a work in progress, so he mounts pretty passive drives, looking for a teammate to get himself open for the pass. He should look to shoot more when he drives. He is invariably being guarded by a smaller guy, and he has shown he can shoot over those guys very effectively. He is just very young and very deferential at this point. But he has very sound fundamentals.
    good review too.

Oh, man, Pop was just in prime form in the post game. After a few of his asshole answers, nobody would ask any more questions. He sat there for a bit, then finally asked if anyone wanted to ask any more questions. Crickets. Why would you ask a question when you know you're just going to get that in reply? For someone who always insists, "It's just a game" he sure takes his interviews seriously.

Barkley hasn't had a woman he didn't pay for in 20 years. But he loves to see people get twisted when he says that stuff.
