But with lma he's less important.
If we knew lma was going to play well we might have traded him already.
Given the hole at center, which Diaw can't fill, we have to prioritize that position.
I believe he won't be on the team next year(blazers? Pistons?)as The FO is retooling the team. But if he stays I remember that he became 2.0 after being out of the rotation in the 2013 finals...

If the Spurs were smart...trade. Being a partially guaranteed contract has value.
Those big with a mean streak types may sometimes pound their chests to fire themselves up. Pop may see that as showboating or not getting over themselves. Hence it's hard to see PATFO pulling the trigger on such big men.

Boris Diaw says the Spurs told him they want to keep himnews4sanantonio.com/sports/spurs-z… #spurs
Would have believed it if his ass wasn't glued to the bench when the season was on the line.![]()
If true & with it seeming like a good chance that Tim returns SA is looking at really changing things up year after next.
They can still waive his sorry ass later.
If true, even though he's in decline, they're probably banking on him, in a contract year, playing for probably his last somewhat significant contract, being better than what they can do given their limited financial resources, trade assets and the unrestricted free agent market.
Knew Pop & RC were going to mail it in.
Paying mother ers like its a charity smh. Bring Bonner back too.
Peter Holt had enough of this crap
I'm fine with Bobo coming back tbh (for reasons mentioned above and because there just isn't a better fit with their limited financial room). Plus, wasn't there mention there's a way to stretch his contract out to lessen his cap hit without cutting/waiving him?
A lot of politicking and posturing here but, the keyword was "wish" not "want". Those words aren't weighted equally and if something better comes along, you'd hope they wouldn't hesitate to act on it.

Another wasted year without bringing in youth to get on the same page with Kawhi..
Bobo unfortunately deserves a smaller contract based on his non-performance during playoffs.
Love the dude, but he did not get any better throughout the season.
Let's trot out the same old tired team next season.
This usually means lose weight, get your act together, or you will be target number one for a mid-season trade.
Works for me!
Thanks for sharing Ace!!!!
You are always keeping us in the loop!
I thought other than the Tim and Manu who may retire (but Manu's essay certainly left open the possibility of another season) I thought Diaw is the only guy they might trade. It could mean D west is opting out and moving on in that case.
I'm thinking the same thing regarding D West. With LMA playing PF, it makes us pretty stacked at the 4.
Spurs need to decide how they want to use Diaw. If they want him to be heavy enough (fat enough) to mark centers and fast enough to guard small forwards and switch on Guards?
Also Diaw cannot display his full skillset if you spot him in a corner to shoot jumpers, while LMA and Kahwi are playing Isolation ball.
Unless we (Pop) are planning to get back to our ball movement offense of 2014, there is no point of keeping guys like Diaw.
Is there a reason why guys like Martin and Andre Miller were signed? Could have signed two 7fters, who could help against OKC
