Spurs are feverishly working on getting Bonner to agree to a deal before another team tries to pry him away.
80MIL/4year.![]()
You don't think they are taking next years 110 mil cap into consideration w/ the discussions? I think its almost irresponsibly for agents and gms to not take that into consideration. Teams are able to offer the right % based on those projections because they have so much space to do it now.
Woj said Lin's market is $12-$14 mil range
Not sure of all the free agents last year but if the Spurs could've cleared some space for two $15mil contracts instead of LMA that would've been great.
He's not going to get that. But I've been telling you - the way OKC handled GSW (for the first 4 games anyway) is going to set off a big man feeding frenzy. For all the talk about "today's NBA", teams got reminded of the value of having beasts in the middle.
I may have to eat crow, but I still think people are going to be scratching their heads over the contracts offered to some of these big men.
Woj
EDIT: Nevermind, I read your post above as "who" but realize that it was likely autocorrected form Woj (my bad)
If Poop could give him a lifelong contract, he would.
These other bigs aren't going to be switching onto Curry.
Yeah that was autocorrect
Amnesty everyone
if the rockets sign bazemore
backup sg to harden making almost the same money![]()
I'm sure they are. That doesn't by default mean every contract handed out is good or paying the right amount. The players have to fit, perform well as starters and make it that many years (or at least play good enough for you to trade them if you need to without giving up assets to do so).
What we don't know is if these contracts have team options which would change things some.
Nah - that's pretty safe. Noah and Mozgov are 2nd and 3rd tier bigs and look at their deals.
Not sure how long the revenue will continue to go up because cordcutters and what not but if it continues to grow the NBA will just get utterly absurd. The pie is so large and compared to other sports there aren't many people eating. I mean it will be comparable to the cap over time but these are real world numbers and they are entering the level absurd already.
I'm praying that someone (Philly?) offers Harrison Barnes a max offer sheet.
Tony contract still look like ..
Haha.... The Cauldron just tweeting a quote from Pop:
"I'm not calling anyone at midnight. I'll be in bed. And if that's the difference, then I don't want them."
That would be a great contract for Philly to offer give Barnes age, the number of years it will take to develop Philly picks, and the fact that they have to spend money. They can either waste money on players that will be in their 30's by the time the 76ers are ready or spend it on Barnes who will be in his prime by the time a max contract ends. At which time he can resign on a contract that reflects his actual worth.
GSH is a little but lol.
If Mozgov makes $16 million, that will be 17% of the team's cap. For comparison, 17% of last year's cap was just under $12 million...so that's sort of the "equivalent contract" adjusting for the increase in cap.
Still pretty terrible![]()
