Why? I mean, he's an ok player, but he's 27 (which isn't terribly old) and has no upside left. Why not try to sign some 24-25 year olds with at least some upside?

I suppose. After the Mozgov deal, I'm pretty much immune to anything right now. Like I said, Turner is a good player so it's fine.

Where have you been? I mean, in our exchanges this year all of these events have to surprise you. You were touting much different stuff than is actually happening.
Been busy at work. Haven't been able to post as much...

We have $60+ million to spend, yet no big stars wants to babysit, I mean play with our young players. So no, I'm not surprised by these events. I'm actually quite content. I want to see the Lakers build thru the draft for once. Let these kids grow as players under Luke's tutelage. When they finally prove themselves eventually FA players will begin signing with the Lakers again.

You thought you was getting Whiteside and/or Durant and they didn't even take meetings with you

KD meets with us on Saturday

I'm hoping that monster contract DeRozan signed priced them out of Biyombo tbh.

I never thought we'd get KD. When Dallas (same max deal, no state taxes in Texas) said they wanted Whiteside, I knew he wasn't coming to the Lakers. Glad he signed with the Heat instead.

Y'all not getting KD son. He'd be leaving a better roster to go to San Antonio? Not buying it tbh.

If I were LA (and I'm not) I would seriously consider taking other teams crap in trades in order to stock pile assets like draft picks. Plenty of teams will pay to have a team with cap space absorb guys and send nothing back. Cap space means freedom and if you will suck anyways might as well get assets.

Or even good players. You can get good players with cap space in trades. For example:

Kanter wouldn't be a bad signing. He's a horrible defender though.

It's a long shot for us, but at least we're getting a meeting.

That's how much respect the Spurs have around the league
