Good. Put pressure on the Warriors to choose between Barnes and the hope of Durant.

Probably thinks he could turn them into a contender all by himself.
I doubt it. He'll be in his 30's by the time there young guys are ready.

If GSW loses Barnes they'll take a huge step backwards. I guess they can match but I would think it looks better just to make the max offer themselves.
What? You really think Barnes is that important? Maybe I'm just overreacting to his ty postseason, but I would not want to be the team that throws a max at Barnes.

Man, the Celtics turn that Nets pick into another legit player and you have to consider it if you're Durant...

Go to the East where your only compe ion is LeBron (that Celtics team would be better) so you have a good shot at being in every Finals for the next 3-4 years + you don't have the stigma of coat-tailing a championship team like he'd have in Golden State so his brand would still be protected...

If money really isn't a factor (I still think the 1+1 option to stay in OKC is the key to keeping him with the Thunder) then Boston seems like a really damn good option tbh,
I just don't see how they're compe ive with the Cavs in the East, even with Durant and Horford.

Starting to think Atlanta should have traded him if they were not willing to do whatever it takes to keep him. Hindsight I know, but its a blow.

Oh I didn't say he actually WOULD turn them into contenders. I said he THINKS he could.

Even if they can't beat the Cavs immediately they'll be ready to take over if Lebron declines.

Yeah, he'll dodge all the hate from building his own thing in Boston. Plus he'll be "the man" with the ability to shape his own legacy.

So a dumbass owner in Dallas decided to max out Barnes, but a dumbass head coach in Oakland would maybe want that max matched?? One of those will win te dumbass of the offseason award by far getting Barnes maxed out on their roster.

He's not that good individually but he pretty important to that team. There offense won't work without a really good three point shooter to replace him. Perhaps they can find that skill but it will probably come at a loss of his length and defensive abilities. They'll have to find someone like him to play their best lineup as well.

Re-read my first sentence. The rest of what I wrote is contingent on Boston netting another star player using the Nets pick as a centerpiece in a trade.

You been a Spurs fan since '99 and you don't think they have a plan if the longshot pitch to Durant doesn't materialize. You sure about that handle?

Wonder what allen crabbe will bring
    $14-15m per

So Durant pitched another free agent to come to OKC even as he was getting pitches from other teams? Interesting.
    It really is.

Kings/Pacers working on a Rudy Gay/Monta Ellis trade
TBH I'd be fine with a year of Rudy Gay if the Kings threw in a pick or two. The 76ers have the right to swap first rounders with them in 2017 but it will still probably be a top 10 pick regardless. Granted he's a career loser, but a Gay + 1st rounder for Green trade would solve a lot of our problems that stem from only having two players (Kawhi and LMA) who can create offense for themselves. Honestly I think you could talk those idiots Vivek and Divac into giving you Gay + Skal + a first for Green and Diaw. They're desperate to right the ship and Green's contract is looking like an absolute bargain. That being said I know a lot of people here would be horrified at the prospect of having to watch Rudy Gay play 82+ games of basketball, and it would be a huge waste if we didn't use the room it would clear up next summer for a A+ free agent.

Golden State would be flat stupid to match the offer sheet. Let Cuban's dumbass keep him. The more dumbass Cuban shows himself to be, the better.

    Huh.

I didn't believe the "blown away" leak but this is somewhat surprising. And then news that Durant was trying to pitch Horford to OKC and that's gone. Still think Durant stays, but he's got to wonder if Westbrook is leaving next year.
