no go? contract issues?
Yeah, it's about the order of signings. That's why I was surprised he was even listed but makes sense they want him learning as much as possible.
OMG!!!!! Not a good start for Murray if he's getting benched in summer league... Wow.
He's got to be stinking it up in practices or, he really doesn't have a grasp at all on how to play the point. He doesn't understand simple sets they are running.
Unbelievable! I could be trolling Murray bc it's really comical to be benched in SL but the coaches are probably saving him from an embarrassment I am guessing. He has to be that lost to need to watch a few SL games to understand what they are doing.
I haven't been following the Spurs for enough years to know if they have ever done this b4.
None of the above. He hasn't signed his contract yet due to the ongoing Free Agency stuff.
Lol I didn't read the rest of the thread. Kinda glad it's really not what I thought.
Bummer for him then. It's boring to sit in the sidelines and not being able to play.![]()
Thanks for sharing![]()
You either have the worst reading comprehension. Or you just skip over other posts to make comments. Either way you look stupid as .

An interesting Kyle interview (has a nice sense of humor, trolled the reporters about last summer league): http://www.nba.com/spurs/?tmd=1#
Will Hardy and J.Simms are interviewed on the site too. J.Simms seemed like an ambitious guy that is hoping to be one of the elite guys in the league. I think he's eyeing his next contract for sure.
San Antonio Local Media asked Will Hardy about Kyle playing so many positions and whether it was better early on in his development to just focus him on one position or keep him versatile.
Will said he's a good basketball player and his size allows him to guard different positions, basically if you put him out there in different positions he's a good player to figure them out.
It was a bit of a downer to hear from Will Hardy that Dejounte has been around the training facilities but that he's not training with the summer league team. The possibility that he will play in Utah seemed remote to me bc he just hasn't trained or been around that team. Maybe he signs his contract in time for the Vegas team, and hopefully we get to see LJC, Milutinov, and Bertans too, but for Utah it doesn't seem likely.

The Spurs released their roster for next week’s Utah Summer League on Friday, and Dejounte Murray’s name was on it.
That wasn’t surprising, given Murray’s status as the team’s first-round draft pick, selected No. 29 overall in last week’s draft.
When Murray might make his official Summer League debut remains to be seen.
The Spurs’ summer squad begins play Monday in Salt Lake City before migrating to Las Vegas on July 9. Murray’s availability, however, could be subject to the Spurs’ other free agency pursuits.
Simply put, if the Spurs aim to conserve maximum salary cap space in order to make a run at Kevin Durant, they might pause in signing Murray until they’ve got a handle on the Oklahoma City superstar’s plans.
Though players are allowed to participate in summer leagues without an NBA contract, many first-round rookies tend to wait until they have a guarantee in hand before subjecting themselves to the July exhibition circuit.
Asked on draft night if or when Murray would participate in summer leagu, general manager R.C. Buford described the situation as fluid.
“We’ll have to work through the sequencing of contracts,” Buford said. “I would imagine that will have an impact on when we get things done.”
Other prominent players on the Spurs’ roster in Utah include third-year forward Kyle Andesron and second-year guard Jonathon Simmons — both of whom saw significant NBA action last season — as well as Erazem Lorbek, the 32-year-old Slovenian forward obtained from Indiana in the 2011 Kawhi Leonard deal.
The Spurs will ink Murray to his rookie scale deal at some point. The exact date could be dependent upon Durant or other free agents the Spurs are chasing.
As such, Murray’s status remains uncertain heading into the Spurs’ opener in Salt Lake. With Durant reportedly aiming to make a free agency decision by July 9, Murray is a safer bet to be on the floor when the Spurs move to Vegas at the end of next week.
Yeah, people who are blowing of Murray's late of participation are off-base. The dude is essentially holding out. That means either the team won't give him the fill 120 percent of the rookie scale or Murray's agent is telling him to be a diva.
Could there be issues with timing? Pop's picked up that Simmons option quickly.
And Rich Paul is known to be a headache. I think Spurs will pay him his 120% just apparently want to time it after others... (guessing)
I cringed the whole time. Just thought it was poster's usual shtick.![]()
They probably will. But Paul apparently won't let Murray play until he signs that contract. Same thing happened with Ben Simmons.
i wonder at what condition Erazem is, but at his peak, this man could play, ey
Not to mention one that flashes the money sign after making a shot LOL! Will be promptly benched if that happens in game
