Kind of feel they didn't pitch KD hard.
Because as of right now, SA has the following players under contract:
LMA
Kawhi
Danny
Parker
Tim
Boris
Simmons
Kyle
Mills
Those guys (plus cap holds for Murray & LJC) add up to 84M in salary. The salary cap is 94M. That means SA, with all of those players on the books has 10M in cap space. If Gasol is making 16M, SA is 6M short of what they need to get Gasol his 6M.
So they have to trade a player or players to get that money and with Boris making 7M, trading him gets SA to the cap space they need to sign Gasol.
Kind of feel they didn't pitch KD hard.
I could see the team parting ways with Tony with Timmy likely retiring and Manu possibly moving on, but unless they can find a suitable replacement it wouldn't be in their best interest to drop him. Or do people really think Patty Mills is capable of running a NBA offense for a playoff team?
I don't.
Man, it'll be really weird and crazy if/when Timmy isn't at the tip-off circle and Manu in another team's jersey.
Well, I'm with you there. Simmons can do a lot more with the ball than Anderson.
KD was never coming to the Spurs. It doesn't matter how the Spurs pitched him. He wanted to play on a stacked GSW team. Not play with Tony Parker and a 41yo center.
No contract details mentioned yet.
Holy he does look like bonner
RIGA TIME!!!!![]()
Looking forward to see him in a Spurs uniform
I really do think Anderson and Bertans may up a good combo at the forward spots off the bench. But the issue is they don't have a center. Oh, and they currently don't have a two-guard.
Huge!!! Bertans at the minimum is a got damn life saver!!
TP/DG/KL/LMA/Pau = Damn Solid SL against anyone.
Patty/Simmons/Kyle/Bertans/LJC/Murray - need a SG/playmaker still and 2 more bigs at least (PF/C's), but any minimum signing with upside is great (Bertans).
Still 4M in cap space (if Tim waived/stretched, more if they can trade him to a team for nothing back) + Room Exception + Min contracts (and any trades they can swing).
That's what the article says:
The 42nd pick of the 2011 NBA draft is willing to get a salary near the minimum in order to continue his career in the NBA, the buy out in his contract with Baskonia is affordable and he is one of the players who is expected to be part of the team’s roster for next season.
perfect.... Thanks...
Simmons?
Too little, too late.
A player that people on here want and the Spurs are gonna fail to get him again
Asshole the size of a pinhead right now. Go, Spurs, Go!
Looking forward to seeing Bertans next season.
Would rather it be a pure shooter. But if Anderson can get his shots down, then Simmons slashing, Anderson posting up with a guy like Dedmon looking to finish as Bertans and Mills spots up looks like it could be a lot of fun.
