Perhaps it has to do with their rights. If they havent signed yet, they are still the rights to their previous teams, whereas Murray never had those prior rights to another team and is therefore allowed insurance.

Contract issues, the Timmy retirement thing holding up our summer league squad!
No Bertans or LJC?
Come on now.
If they aren't playing tonight because no contract is signed during a Saturday, then don't expect them to play tomorrow either.
Maybe the holdup is Duncan's retirement announcement postponement holding up the waive & stretch?
Probably haven't signed yet due to the decision from Timmay
Wow that sucks big time.. I was looking forward to seeing them play tonight.
This Timmy thing is getting ridiculous TBH. No one wants to say it bc it's Timmeeh but come on now.
Well that Timmy can take as long as he wants even though I would like to see those guys play.
It will be interesting to see how well Hanlan meshes with this SL squad. They could use some of the effort plays he showed for Utah versus the Spurs.
On another note, I wondered the other night if Murray's slashing abilities didn't adversely affect Simmons' psyche a bit. Jonathon was clearly off.
I also hope that Simmons learned a valuable lesson not to shoot with 5 seconds still remaining on the shot clock protecting a 2-point lead with 9 seconds left in the game.
Looking forward to watching Bertans and Murray tonight. About as interesting as SL can get for me.
Very. Chinook has been saying for a while that him being mentally weak is one of those intangibles that blocks him from improving. If he allows that to get to him, Dijon will knock him out bc if there's something that kid has is confidence.
^^ Bertans not in it, nor LJC. Contract issues.
Really? I thought they were on the Vegas rosters.
Damn. My night is ruined.
Later edit: Just saw the announcement. I should have scrawled up a few pages. My bad.
One thing would make it even more interesting: seeing a young big who actually had a chance to make the team. AND seeing him involved in the offense. Kirk has been pitiful, and Cady has been completely ignored. A glimpse of Milutinov and LJC would be very nice. Frankly, it is looking more and more likely that Bonner will be back.
If he doesn't make it in the league, it will be because he doesn't think or have much BB IQ. This is something he should have learned before his second SL. Clock management is so basic. Not to mention he almost threw the ball away with a bad inbounds pass. He had mostly passing problems and handling problems in the game where he had 9 TOs. I like his athleticism but his mental mistakes don't seem to be getting corrected.
I believe Simmons still has some value. We should try to move him ASAP.
It's a shame that Milutinov is not coming over. This year a young big could get some real playing time.
Will you people ing stop with this ?
So according to this Jean-Charles is gonna occupy a roster spot
This is a board dude. Half the ppl in the board have hated on a favorite of mine Kyle Anderson, and they are not about to stop now. Chill out
lol My mental spazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I was bummed about tonight's game and completely missed the give away admission!![]()
Yes, LJC will occupy a roster spot.
At this time last year, so did Reggie Williams.
Later in the summer so did Jimmer Fredette, Deshaun Thomas, Keifer Sykes, Youssou Noye and Julian Washburn; none of which made it to opening day. It's a 20-man roster.
OTOH, as a first round pick LJC has significant guaranteed money, and I believe only Fredette had significant money (less than LJC).
That make LJC harder to cut, but the Spurs will cut if they like someone better. Last year they cut Williams, McCallum and Butler from the 15-man.
