Why 2018-19? Why not next season? or is there too many contracts on the books for next season?
I'm still waiting to see the contracts for the 17-18 season but I assume Gasol would opt in given his age unless he wants to risk opting out for a one year pay raise. Mills is an FA but the Spurs have his bird rights

    Parker
    Green
    Leonard
    Gasol
    Mills
    Murray
    Anderson
    Bertans
    Simmons

that's 9 players for $95.5 million (including cap hold for Mills, QA's for Anderson, and Simmons, TDs stretched salary, and Bertans making around $2 million)

I am not sure of Dedmons contract and whether it runs past this season or if LJC has guaranteed money past this season too but with the cap at $102 million (projected) it seems like the Spurs won't have much space unless Gasol retires or opts out an leaves more than $14 million on the table.

i wonder if Pop can experiment with Kyle as the starting point guard, for some games only

    what do you think guys?
He might throw funky lineups out there just because... lol but Pops has been dead set that Kyle is a forward from the beginning it seems to me and now they need forwards who have an offensive game bc the lost Diaw and D west. He can be a playmaker from the forward spot, much as Manu is a playmaker from the SG spot. My 2¢

Westbrook don't want to come here and he would be a terrible fit anyways. Unless he's turned over a new leaf that dude is a system killer. Especially not worth doing on a sign and trade deal as everyone has mentioned would inevitably include Kawhi or LMA. If he makes it to free agency next year then there might be something to talk about.

Would Parker, green, future 1st rounder be enough? Like Rose said, probably would have to get a third team involved.
    not even close.

OKC wants from Boston, Bradley, Olynyk, both of Brooklyn's lottery picks, and one other forward.

Boston offered everything but just one lottery pick and OKC shot it down.

Don't give up any assets. I doubt that Westbrook is going to commit long term to any team if they trade him to anyone for assets because most of the teams with assets have 0 chance of competing. Westbrook is not an idiot, he may act like an ass to the media and he may get wild at times but the dude is a walking triple double machine on a team that has only one other alpha on the team.

System killer? OKC runs no system whatsover.. The team was predicated on give the ball to westbrook or durant, set screens or clear out and get to spots for a shot if they can't score.

You wait for the end of this season, jettison Parker's 15m, renounce who you have to to clear space and bring him in to start.. Westbrook/Green/Kawhi/Adridge/?? is an amazing starting lineup that brings length and spacing..

it'll be interested in seeing when okc caves and they will cave. They have relatively few options as the best contracts come from the worst cities.

Fathead is not better than Mills.
Yes he is. Mills has one skill and he's been bad at it.

Kyle dribbles better, defends better, passes better, isn't under sized.

This is the real world señor. You need to state a case. Kyle is a Swiss army knife. Patty is dull single knife.

Your judging a single dimension player against a budding point forward. This is like comparing Kobe to Duncan and citing Kobe scoring average. Don't be a Kobe fan

Pop would cut Fathead if it meant keeping Patty Mills. Fathead can't even play any ing good playoff games.

I have an idea....if this season becomes an experimental one

why not start both Murray and Bertans:

Gasol at center, Lamarcus and Bertans at forwards, Kawhi and Murray at guards!!!

    wwwwwwwoooooooooooo, counter intuitive

but now you got the strongest bench in the NBA:

Dedmon at center, another power forward and Danny Green at forwards

Parker and Manu at guards! who not????

Actually, Patty could be a nice trade chip mid-season if he doesn't up his game. We need a better version of Patty than we had last season.
