I dont think the post debate fact checks will look good on Pence.

The guy lied about so many things. The one that will be glaring is the one he said himself about Putin being a better leader than Obama.

He flat out denied he said it.
Agreed on that but at the same time Pence clarified it and said Russia was a small bully that was somewhat succeeding in expanding their dominance in the world as the reason why he said Putin was a better leader. I thought that was his only decent moment in the whole debate but it was a strong one. Kaine could have easily hit him back on Russia's economy and Trump stupidly believing Putin's approval poll numbers but he failed big time in that regard.

CBS post-debate focus group said Pence won and that the debate will have no affect on their vote.

So that was a productive evening.

Pence seemed to determine to portray Trump as the person he wanted him to be as opposed to the man that he was. The post debate fact checking is going to be harsh on Pence. Trump indeed said all that that Pence disavowed or dismissed over inexperience.

I want to see what the fallout is going to be about Pence talking down Putin during the debate. Trump's followers love some Putin That moment probably didn't go over well with that group.

You guys are hacks, most are saying pence won. Being smug, interrupting, lying and accusing isn't winning. Kaine, a career politician, has somehow managed to never accomplish a single thing which is an accomplishment in itself. Nothing he says matters, trump winning 47-32 in Florida early voting.

PENCE OPENS V.P. DEBATE BY BEGGING PRIVATE SECTOR TO HIRE HIM

FARMVILLE, VIRGINIA — The Republican Vice-Presidential nominee, Mike Pence, stunned a national television audience on Tuesday night by using his opening statement in the Vice-Presidential debate to beg the nation’s private sector for a job.

Shortly after the moderator, Elaine Quijano, told Pence that he had two minutes to make his statement, the Indiana governor looked directly into the camera and said,

“I’m going to get right down to it. If you run a company and you’re watching this right now, I beg you from the bottom of my heart to consider hiring me. I need a job and I need it bad.”

Pence urged employers to consider his many qualifications and to

ignore his role in the 2016 Republican campaign. “As God is my witness, I take no responsibility for this dumpster fire,” he said.

Stressing the urgency of his situation, Pence said that his political career was in ruins and pleaded with employers to visit his LinkedIn profile.

As the moderator warned Pence that his time was up, he shouted,

“I can start Wednesday, November 9th!”

before the camera abruptly cut away.

According to published reports, no employers expressed immediate interest in hiring Pence.

I didn't watch, but having listened to the professionals discuss it this morning on both Fox and CNN it seems like most of the ones breathlessly posting in here last night that Kaine was destroying Pence were watching an entirely different debate. It was virtually unanimous that Kaine did an acceptable job of regurgitating the campaigns exaggerated talking points but it was more of a sacrifice fly ball since Pence came off more measured and professional. apparently Kaine's barrage of constant interruptions hurt him. Again, I didn't watch it just giving a summary of the pros opinions.

ALL debates. Americans insult themselves by deciding whom to vote for based on the debates.

Trash -slapped himself, with lots of help from Hillary, in the first debate, and that was fantastic, but 10Ms still support him. Trash's debate up has nothing to with the debate, but all about ed up Trash.

and what do debates have to do with governance? Hillary isn't going to debate Pootine or other world leaders.

She doesn't even have to face Congress in person like English prime ministers must face Commons.

debates? all part of the venal BigMedia dog-and-pony busine$$ charade to sell ads.

If a debate decides your vote, you're ing stupid.

Mike Pence Is a Coward and an Extremist

He’s the perfect face of the GOP.

his debate performance on Tuesday night will veer between dull obfuscation and awkward evasion of an extremist policy background that he is too craven to openly defend.

Start with Pence’s passionate anti-LGBTQ beliefs, which led him to thrust his state into a national debate over gay rights in 2015.

That March, Pence signed a “religious freedom” law
designed to let businesses discriminate against LGBTQ customers, then repeatedly lied about its purpose on national television.

    Eventually, he
caved and signed a legislative “fix” to prevent the law from facilitating discrimination, a tacit concession of its original intention.

his lengthy history of anti-LGBTQ advocacy proves he’s one of American politics’ most militant culture warriors.

As a congressman, Pence supported a cons utional amendment that would’ve banned same-sex marriage across the country,
calling gay unions a “deterioration of marriage and family” and a sign of “societal collapse.”

In 2010, he voted against the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell,”
claiming that allowing gays to serve openly in the military was tantamount to “social experimentation.”

And he has vigorously opposed a federal law that would prohibit anti-gay employment discrimination,
calling the measure a “war on freedom and religion in the workplace.”

In 2000, during his first successful run for Congress, Pence declared that federal funds meant to treat and prevent HIV/AIDS were actually “being given to organizations that celebrate and encourage the types of behaviors that facilitate the spreading of the HIV virus.”

(Presumably, Pence was referencing groups that treated HIV/AIDS patients without condemning sexuality.) Instead of funding HIV/AIDS treatments, Pence wrote, the federal government should redirect its resources to gay conversion “therapy” programs.

(The mere fact that Pence supported
horrific, abusive conversion therapy—and has not yet disclaimed that support—should really be its own scandal.)

And in the 1990s, Pence served as president of a conservative think tank that published a bizarre screed against gays in the military—a polemic that
included extensive descriptions of graphic gay sex acts. (Certain details, including one involving light bulbs, defy logic and suggest a great amount of poetic license.)

Pence’s anti-LGBTQ activism, however, is really only the tip of his uniquely berserk iceberg.

Did you hear about the time that, as governor, he tried to create a Soviet-style state-run news agency?

Or when he resisted a needle exchange program, thereby exacerbating his state’s escalating HIV crisis?

What about the time he helped to dismantle Indiana’s extraordinarily effective energy efficiency program, for no apparent reason other than to appease his donors in the coal industry?

Should we talk about Pence slashing taxes for the extremely wealthy and battling a minimum wage increase while preventing local governments from implementing paid sick or family leave?

Or his dozens of votes in Congress against bills designed to protect endangered species, clean air, and safe drinking water?

Naturally, Pence denies the existence of climate change; he also rejects evolution and supports the teaching of creationism in public schools.

The fact that these positions haven’t gotten more attention—that Pence is still seen as the more rational and benevolent man on the ticket—is an illustration of how anyone can seem competent when compared with Donald Trump.

    My take:

Kaine hit every single bad thing Trump has said, got all his points in, interrupted a lot and seemed to bring every topic (even foreign policy) back to Trump's taxes. Didn't say that much on what (good) Hillary would do - more of a Trump bashing.

Pence was measured, (sometimes too) deliberate and surprisingly talked a lot on foreign policy especially relating to Hillary/Obama. I felt that even though he answered the faith question with his pro-life/anti-abortion stance - that it (that topic) doesn't do him any favors with a general election audience. Kaine's capital punishment answer is much less emotional/controversial.

During the whole debate, all I was thinking is why couldn't the choice for presidency have been between these 2 :-) Someone needs to confiscate Trump's cel phone until the election is over and stop him from tweeting. He should also stop giving interviews because the media twists everything he says (like the veteran/PTSD comment).

How sincere do you think Pence and Kaine are about truly helping U.S. citizens?
Scale 1-10 with 10 being complete love for their fellow man, would do anything they could. Very self sacrificing.
    1 being typical POS politician.

    0 = Pence
    3 = Kaine

My new hypothesis is that Trump surrogates will pivot after the VP debate, no matter who "wins" the debate itself, and argue that a vote for Trump can be justified as a vote for Pence. They might even go so far as to intimate that Trump may not serve out a full term and that Pence is the real candidate here.

Play the hand your dealt, they say.

Personally, what I think will happen--& I realize it might be far-fetched--is that Trump, when he loses, will say that he conducted his campaign in a way that endured Clinton gets the Presidency. Then he'll go & seek refuge/asylum in some other country (China? Russia? LOL). I don't think he'd be sincere in saying that, I just think he's that ed up/narcissistic/sociopathic as an actual person that he'll say & do anything not to be viewed as a failure.

I doubt we have to worry about Trump being President. I think Hillary will win easily barring a HUGE bombs revelation...like a sex/snuff tape with her giving Vince Foster head on the park bench and then shooting him in the head as he came.......
