Were we watching the same series? Whenever anything went right for the Jays, the announcers sounded like they were at a funeral. Whenever the Rangers did anything right, they sounded like they were making the World Series-winning call. Dennis Eckersley is the saltiest and most biased announcer I've ever heard on a national feed. He still hasn't gotten over the massive Alomar took on him in '92, I guess.
Not to mention most sites I saw ranked 'Best potential WS matchups' had the Jays as the lowest common variable
Cubbies playing with fire by missing out on more scoring opportunities, tbh.
Cubs are starting to choke this
Safe!
Edit: These umps want the Scrubs to win so bad.
That did look safe. But I'll take it.
Makes the victory just a little bit sweeter, IMO.
The amount of ref help the Cubs are getting is unreal.
Umpires are certainly the worst in all major sports for replay review. How they didn't overturn that out is mind boggling.
WTF?
I'm not watching the game but the 1st base play was reviewed and still not overturned?
Did any runs score as a result?
That deflected ball was plenty far enough away from the catcher for guy on 2B to have burned it over to third.
Sloppy base running.
What you do is on EVERY pitch you go as far off the bag as you can (without jeopardizing getting thrown out), thereby getting as close to the next base (in this case 3rd) as you can.
Giant baserunner does that and he makes 3rd IMO.
great piece of hitting.
Chapman needs to develop a slider and work it in. Too predictable, 100 mph or not.
Dem Giants, heard the cheering from my place
Conner Gillaspie is this year's hero for the Giants I guess.
'Tis an even year afterall...
Meh, sucks to blow this game. But Cubs are still the superior team. Gaints ain't good enough to beat em 2 outta 3 including 1 in Wrigley.
True but Giants are extremely roachy.
