That's good for the horns. Tech really really sucks in early start games
Tech might break 1000 yards passing against Texas.
Ugh. I've got the bleach eye drops already prepared.
Texas really really sucks at any time of the day.
That's ok because Donta will run for 1000
While putting him out of his misery might seem palatable too some, there's nothing to be gained. There's no one on the staff i trust with an interim role. Any of the candidates for the job are going to be coaching long past Charlie this year giving a Texas ample time to recruit quality coaches. You also let his abysmal record speak for itself leaving no doubt for those who still defend him. He's not an asshole and there's reason to treat him like one. , Mackovic got to coach out his last season and everyone hated him.
You are probably right. I just don't see how that is the case.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here but, I'm not ready to give up on this guy yet. I think there is tremendous benefit to having a coach long term, I believe that Texas talent can overcome a lot as long as we have enough of it and strong has shown despite the results on the field that he can get them here. Now he needs to show the same eye for talent in the coaching ranks and get some help, cause bama has about 6 head coaches on staff. I want to win as much as the next guy however; I don't see anybody better than strong at present, let's not doom ourself to struggle and strife just because we are in the thick of it. I fear that due to our hierarchy's short term status, they will have a short sighted solution. I say stick it out, do what we can to bolster the coaching, let strong bring in talent, keep evaluating candidates until either strong puts his job out of reach, or a clear better choice emerges that can step into the best situation possible under the cir stances.
Where are you personally drawing the line for Strong?
At the end of Year 3, he could have his worst record yet, only has one coach remaining from his original staff and he's still showing the same game day blunders.
That's a fierce indictment.
Texas has been 3-4 only eight times in the program's history. Three of those times are under Strong.
Yeah if they had an Ed Orgeron type coach to take over, then yeah give him the pink slip, but with all these scrub assistants, it's no good.
Well you look at the over all picture of Herman's wins, losses, quality wins, bad losses along with how the program was before he got there, his recruiting prowess......which includes that 5 star defensive freak.
It's a no brainer tbh
I hate attention s like this that float rumors with no verifiable source
I think Shane being benched is bigger.
if jefferson is benched there will be mass exodus of transfers after season................
herman is the perfect candidate for hc............who wouldn't want to play for this coach.....................
From OrangeBloods:
Texas coach Charlie Strong had a closed door meeting with athletic director Mike Perrin this morning. A high level source tells Orangebloods the purpose of the meeting was to make sure Strong and Perrin were on the same page, which included the administration's expectations for the program.
That'd be a huge mistake
They're not benching Shane. He's the furthest thing from the problem and one of the two or three bright spots this season.
