No, I don't hate or want to hurt anyone and it's for their own good and ours. Diverse communities are more happy and cohesive, I don't want to be around to oppress them.

So when Senator Cruz is able to pass a law that seriously interferes with the right to same-sex marriage, you think President Trump will just veto it?
So you think he wont because...?

Oh that's right...he's a sick monster, who hasn't done anything yet, and you are sooooooooo enlightened and in-the-know that you can condescend to someone because you are 100% right? Kinda like last night, huh??

It is beyond true though that many whites were voting against immigration and the increasing ratio of minorities in this country. Surprised anyone would even bother to pretend different
That's a safe zone generalized statement with zero backbone. Many people voted for many reasons, it doesn't mean the election was decided by those reasons or anything to do with race. I'd say Syrian refugees played as large a part in the turnout as did illegal Mexicans.

Not anywhere near Hillary levels. She is a career politician who has had political scandals follow her at EVERY turn of her career. If you can compare career political corruption to shady business dealings, you just might be re ed, hardcore biased or hardcore biased and re ed.

Yes, you're right. Mr. Trump has shown absolutely no willingness to say or do whatever it takes to keep his base happy. And the Republican base has expressed no interest whatsoever in outlawing same-sex marriage.

And he didn't immediately criticize SCOTUS for its decision in Obergefell:

Talk about words to regret. Makes 47 percent seem like a compliment.

Amazing that one person said they'd vote for Trump even if he shot someone in the middle of the street, the other said half of them were deplorable, and the LATTER is what made them mad.

Wait, how is a hope that we won't return to discriminating against particular groups of people an exercise in "iden y politics?"

They've been historically discriminated against, that's a fact. They have recently made progress in overcoming that discrimination, that's a fact. There's a legitimate concern that those advancements might be undone, which creates a legitimate fear, largely because Republican congressmen have suggested that they want to pass laws that will undo those advancements. That, in my view, would be a bad thing for our society.

In specifically targeting those advancements, are the Republicans engaging in iden y politics, too, in your view?
Oh please. Hillary's iden y politics had nothing to do with "discrimination." Her campaign demonized anyone who disagreed with their agenda, labeling them as "racists," "sexists," and "fascists." Flinging insults at the majority of Americans is not a winning strategy, as Hillary just learned the hard way. And ironically, by overusing those words, she's trivialized them and only made it harder to combat actual racism, fascism, and sexism when it happens.

Trump is quite pro-LGBT as far as Republicans go. During his campaign, he stood against many in his own party by telling the base that gay marriage is a settled issue and that transgender people should be able to use whatever bathroom they want (it's still ridiculous that the left made that a major campaign issue, BTW). He also fought against the Democrats' and RINOs' zeal to import tons of barely-vetted refugees from countries with horrible track records on LGBT rights. It's also worth pointing out that the deciding vote on Obergefell v. Hodges was cast by a conservative Reagan appointee. At udes are starting to change in the GOP, and the old social-conservative dinosaurs are losing their grip.

The issue is that one didn't realize exactly how many people they were panning. The other was just dropping truth nuggets.

The one that pisses me off the most is the "ignorant" label. Like if you just read a bit more, you'd totally buy all the they were selling. It's kind of hard to have a discussion with someone when they're coming at you with the at ude that you're just too stupid to agree with them.

Maybe more importantly, I think Trump will try to dodge those social wasp nests if he can. No one REALLY wants to be the president who ends Roe or destroys marriage equality. Or the one who starts a near genocide by deporting thousands of people.

You can project your views on me all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that on this particular issue, you want government to step in and tend to your delicate sensibilities. You call yourself conservative, man up and take personal responsibility. Don't go whining to Daddy Trump for protection.
LOL "delicate sensibilities". You've either no hint of irony of a Liberal condescending to a Conservative about the ing Government stepping in on their behalf...

Kinda like Bernites wanted Bernie to:

    Give them free college
    Give them free healthcare
    Higher wages
    Kill babies
Say we can't teach religion due to lack of scientific basis but can teach transgenderism, which there is no factual or scientific basis.

LO INGL. The audacity of your hypocrisy is astonishing.

LOL. Butthurt, bruh? Get over it, your criminal lost. You don't have to feel bad about supporting a murdering, treacherous racist criminal, she lost. Your soul is exonerated so you don't have to feel like a just because you did the thing and supported the most deplorable, crooked candidate ever.

I go by the principle of "live and let live". I don't care what deity someone else worships, who they sleep with, what their opinions are etc as long as they don't break the law or harm other people. I don't want government to limit other people's freedoms. IDK whether you consider that conservative or liberal and I don't care.

Note that I never said "we can't teach religion" - you jumped to that conclusion yourself.

He's going to focus on trade laws that will benefit his business and by extension others as well. Unlike anyone from the past however many years, Trump is a great business strategist and surrounds himself with smart people. We'll see if he continues that in the WH.

I'm hoping he can do that while not getting us into a war and doing anything socially that can't be fixed. Let him try to fix the economy. Why not?

After further review, its apparent that Hillary lost because blacks didn't go out and vote for her. Trump got less total votes than McCain and Romney. There wasn't some huge white surge.
