Trump is worse than Hillary. Hillary is also really, really bad. They are not mutually exclusive. Almost all voter polls have said this. People didn't like either candidate.
It's unfortunate that the biggest issue (career politicians being too cozy with big business and being corrupt) forced Trump into office despite him not being Presidental material just because Hillary is the face of corrupt politics.
But it pisses me off how people like Pop are painting everyone who felt that way as racist or anti-women. It's just not only untrue but incredibly intolerant. If DEMS would have run a better candidate Trump would have lost.
That there tells you the people are who you thought they were. They would have voted for Obama again over Trump. The people didn't change.
To act like "oh my God, I thought I knew my neighbor and I don't" is exactly the type of thing that led to Trump gaining office. Being out of touch, saying it's my way or the highway and then shaming them (the PC push).

Also voting for Hillary does not mean the same thing as supporting her. I agree with what people are saying about Trump and that he should have never been allowed to win. But that doesn't mean I had to believe in Hillary - I didn't. I didn't support her and she was unfit to run as well.
Unfortunately too many people didn't want Hillary in even knowing how bad Trump is.

That is a mature response and at ude. But, at some point, people in the spotlight that perpetuate falsehoods become part of the problem and incite the violence we are seeing. Trump was not making fun of handicapped people. Reviews of tapes show that is true. He made fun of others in a similar manner. He is not promoting phobia. Peter Thiel and Milo were high profile supporters of Trump, and he hoisted the gay pride flag in Colorado. More nuanced is his immigrant policy, but it isn't exactly fair to say he is xenophobic. He has never stated that immigration will cease. He has said nothing about immigration from Nepal, for instance. And his issues are primarily with illegal immigration from our southern border, and unvetted refugees from muslim cojntries. These are issue related immigration problems. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with wanting a secure border or controlling legal immigration. Countries have reserved the right to do that forever. Even today, I am not allowed to migrate into Mexico and vote in their elections.

CWS - to be fair to Pop I think he mentioned the Rome thing even before Trump. He's been pondering this for a while.
Um,the economy is unquestionably much better than it was in 2009 by any and all metrics
