Saying you don't have a choice is not the same as giving him a chance. That's like saying I'll give paying taxes a chance. What are my alternatives? If you mean you're going to reserve judgement until enough time has elapsed to get an accurate assessment of his performance, you've already made an assessment prior to his election. If on the other hand you mean you don't have a choice in the matter then you're not giving him a chance, you're just suc bing to the inevitable.
