Funny how the libs lament that Carson isn't qualified to be the Sec of HUD but somehow Clinton was qualified to be the Sec of State because she was Bill's wife.

Pretty confident in saying I'd bet Carson won't get anyone killed.

she had been a senator for 8 years and had served on the armed services committee. it would be pretty impressive to have someone killed under the authority of the HUD

How does being a senator qualify her for Sec of State?

How does being on the armed services committee relate to foreign affairs?

Aren't you just saying she held an elected position and served on an unrelated committee?

having general (which most read people have) and practical (acquired through experience or exposure) knowledge of how the federal government operates, about interactions between executive agencies and congress, etc. the state department does have interaction with the armed services committee and there is overlap between their function. when it comes to being the head of a department or of an entire branch of government, there is no direct "experience" for that. for instance, you can only have true presidential experience if you've been a president. but if you've been around the office and have had interactions with it, you have a much stronger understanding of how it operates and how to effectively administrate from that post

Intelligence and lack of political ambition. What made Castro qualified? And don't say being Mayor...we have a City Manager that actually runs things...

Past Secs of State have at least some foreign affairs experience. What did Hillary have, except Bill's foreign affairs?

Hillary has the weakest resume of any of the Secretaries of State as far back as the 60's I believe. , she didn't even know what a classified do ent looked like.

would you hire a neurosurgeon if you were having computer problems and needed technical support?

nobody here that i know if is tearing down an elite neurosorgeon's medical resume as a neurosurgeon. that doesnt mean he's ready to be a contractor or a chef

If I needed someone to be a face for the technical support group to the media and to use rational, logical thought process to make decisions, sure. I'm pretty sure Carson won't be swinging hammers or closing on land deals in Chicago.

Leader is leader. A manager of a produce department can manage a general merchandise department better than a clerk in general merchandise, because he's a manager.

What experience does he need to be able to lead besides leadership?

What's funny is that he could win the presidency and no one would question is qualifications to lead the armed forces.

    lol "no one would question"

if you have somebody running a hospital, i want more than somebody not only with managerial capacity, but also one who is informed enough in the medical field to make accurate and sensical decisions. i wouldn't hire a former manager of walmart to be the manager of a hospital. this is why health administration is its own degree, for instance. yes, managerial and leadership qualities are important, but its also a pretty good idea to have somebody in charge who is informed in that field. this is why nobody questioned carson's ability to be the director of neurosurgery of his hospital despite not having leadership experience to that point

being a genius in one field doesnt automatically make you right for any field requiring mental capacity. carson is a gifted neurosurgeon who also thinks evolution is a farce and that the earth was created 6,000 years ago. would i want him running education and making decisions as far as what is taught in science classes? no.

Bill Clinton, zero military experience. 2 full terms as commander in chief.

Barrack Obama, zero military experience. 2 full terms as commander in chief

So they are qualified to lead the largest military force in the world because they were senators and governors, but HUD is a much more difficult role for a brain surgeon.

But your regression to the fringe is duly noted.

i dont know what specific battle strategies were devised by the presidents. they dont micromanage. they make policy decisions, and the generals and other high ranking military officials tend to pursue them.

I noticed you completely ducked the question about the lack of experience of the CURRENT head of HUD just because he is a Democrat politician.

i've never touted or celebrated castro's amazing qualifications. he had been the mayor of a major city and did oversee community investment and housing projects. it's certainly a lot more than carson has ever done

Carson is like Flacco in the playoffs. Even with the whole world hating on him and doubting him, he's going to step up and get done on the big stage.

You think the HUD secretary doesn't have people who actually run the show? Do you think Hillary was fighting off hajis over in Benghazi?
