The Chipster is reporting Tim Brewster will NOT be joining the coaching staff at Texas. Just in case there's a few who thought that chance still existed.
Just great.
Oklahoma romps.
And they have some fun.
There once was a time when we could out recruit and beat them.
One thing that gave me hope was their pitiful bowl games. Auburn overrated.
Thankfully they lost early on in the season. They definitely got better. We sorta hung with them this year.
Auburn's starting QB broke his arm on the first drive. I wouldn't take too much from that bowl victory.
Didn't he just get fired?
He didn't have to. Meyer knew he was gone. Not too sure why he's getting thrown under the bus so badly. Beck isn't even the playcaller.
So that leaves one staff position yet to be filled, and one new staff position to fill.
If we are indeed getting the Chicago Bears RB coach then I have to say, this is a pretty good group of assistants.
Orlando wasn't my first choice as DC, but he showed me something last year in games against Oklahoma and Louisville. I look forward to seeing what he can do running the Texas defense.
I haven't been happy with the Texas defensive backs since Akina left, but I think getting two DB coaches is going to do wonders for teaching the DBs how to play the game.
Offensively, if Tom Herman wants to excel at his job, I expect he will have his fingerprints all over the offense so I'm really not concerned about the offensive staff, except that I think we might have some damn good recruiters, they certainly are a hard working bunch.
I am optimistic we are going to be back.
Yeah, if Drayton is the other Co-OC/RB coach, I think we have finished with a damn good staff of coaches and recruiters. I would love to bring Traylor back onboard as ST coach once that 10th
coaching position gets approved. I believe the vote is in April.
I read last week, that the vote would be in January (18th I think)? That was the reason many wouldn't discount Joey McGuire, because he wouldn't have to wait that long to get a spot on the staff.
THE GOOD
ATM-------- A beautiful loss
TCU--------- Thankfully Georgia came back on them
THE BAD
LSU--------- Romped without their star setting up Orgeron
OkSt-------- PAC a joke or what... Thank for nothing Colorado (they also raid territory so maybe not so bad)
OU--------- The mighty Auburn D gets buried
We are going to get raided by other schools, but the above is who I consider teams that swipe a good number of kids we want. Kids remember these bowl games. So we have a mixed outcome IMO. OU losing would have been nice.
From that image it looks like practice is being held at Blossom Athletic Center.
Correct.
The West squad practices there annually.
The other sites are confirming that Tim Beck is in.
