You can nick Barry for constantly being in campaign mode, tbh, no doubt about it (although, hate him or love him, he's leaving with approval ratings not seen since Reagan). Dubya loved to go out golfing instead, Reagan loved to do the "talk to the people" TV speeches.

I don't know how many times I heard these people say the electoral math didn't favor him, as if Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania didn't have a lot of the same concerns that would push them to having a very correlated vote.

Yeah the polls were off by about what they usually are. I remember Silver kept writing about how disastrous a 1.5-2 point swing the other way could be to Clinton when she was up 4-5 points and how fragile that blue wall of hers (that ended up going entirely red) was.
