And I hope Pop ceases to cross other lines that are too extreme. I'd much rather he be reasonable as in this quote.
Did he or did he not lie to the American people?
And I hope Pop ceases to cross other lines that are too extreme. I'd much rather he be reasonable as in this quote.
Meh, I just think it's silly for celebs to jump into the political lecturing ring, because inevitably you'll end up pissing off half of your supporters. I prefer the way Bill Belichick shuts down that line of questioning instead of playing around with it--he's not paid to be a political pundit.
And from what I understand, I'd probably agree with Bill's politics. Ijs.
"Yeah that's her with the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful... I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything."
I'm not talking winners or losers. There's always that in power, tbh... with every government. Also, how everyone deems 'success' is fairly personal in a lot of ways.
Overall though, when the country was doing generally well, there was a lot more consensus and a lot less wedging. I personally think that's palpable in society.
As the unique Dave Chappelle said in his SNL monologue not that long ago, I'm going to give the guy a chance, hope he does well, and then time will speak for itself.
The only thing I disagree with you about is that I hope Pop does respect the office of the presidency, and I hope he clarifies as such. I don't need Pop to state beliefs he cannot support, but if he makes an argument about disrespecting the office then I can't abide by it whether it hurts the Spurs or not.
Let's be honest, one way or another you are coming to ST back buddy or you are not leaving at all. So good grief.
Regarding Trump, I don't think that bombing Schools and Hospitals and weddings is OK, not for ANY reason.
Nice fact-less conspiracy theory.
Pop can say whatever he wants. But there is a TIME AND PLACE to do just that. I seriously think Pop is losing his mind really. I don't remember him saying one bad thing about Bush and he was worse than Trump, killing 100s of thousands of people on his orders. Him saying winning another championship is not his priority but society was, that says it all. Dude, go be an activist, I don't care. But right now, his priority should be winning les as he is a HEAD COACH of an NBA team.

I don't know. Unless you give me some sort of clue as to what statements you're referring, I have no idea.
That's the problem with the political discourse in general today--there is no actual discourse. People want to ensconce themselves in their own little blue or red echo chambers and anyone who opposes them in the slightest is LITERALLY THE DEVIL OMFG. It's stupid.
Too many people treat politics like a sports rivalry. Defend your side at all costs, and the other side is never right about anything under any cir stances. It's like Spurs/mavs or something. Insanity![]()
I don't understand why conservatives think people should shut up about their political views. I thought free political debate is one of the cornerstones this country was supposed to have been built on. Should Pop act like he's in Nazi Germany or Cuba where you have to keep your beliefs to yourself?
But that's pretty much what Trump ran on with the way he demonized the media for reporting on him.
A trump supporter not fan of Parker... why am I not surprised![]()
I don't know of anybody who has people should shut up except for the people throwing expletives at me. You're beating a strawman if you think conservatives are saying to stop discourse.
You see, it's only a problem when it's a celebrity who opposes their views. That's what rustles their jimmies. Not the first amendment. No, no, no, never that.
Why? Was he diagramming a march down SW Military in a timeout last night or something?
so you don't know whether or not Trump has lied, then how do you know that Pop is incorrect when he says "you can't trust a word out of his mouth"
Pop can do whatever he wants. I'm saying it's not really business savvy in the business he's in--entertaining people, a large portion of whom will inevitably lean the opposite political direction. I never said people have to shut up about their political views. Pop is just in a position now where he has the professional capital to burn, thanks to his success.
And yet not one single video of him doing this despite the 1,000s of balls and parties he has attended over the pat 30 years. He just in tellin it like it is. Trump is a one woman man. When he was having an affair with Marla Maples, he wasn't even having sex with Ivanka. And in court, it was brought out that she use to hit him and throw silverware and plates at him b/c he never spent any time with her. The woman was bonkers.
Dude, most guys talk like this. I have seen ugly guys, dorks, nerds, etc. say worse. Most guys are just primitive animals when curbing their primal urges. Until Trump starts ordering pros utes in the White House and getting head in the Oval Office, I don't think ANYONE who supported Bill Clinton has right to say a damn thing about him. Bunch of in Hypocrites, actually than hypocrites.
He had a problem with the media misrepresenting him (in his eyes). He never said to halt the political discourse. Big difference there.
Conservatives in this thread are absolutely trying to stop discourse when they say people in the public eye should be ashamed to engage in it. Same crybaby crap happened here a few years ago when Pop said it was re ed to not have a public option in the ACA. Same thing happened when Manu said he was an atheist.
You can't force somebody to respect anything. Period. You might lament it, publicly scorn him about it, jump in the segment of the media bandwagon that finds the comments disgusting, ignore it, but that's about it.
Respect is earned. He has his doubt that POTUS is fit to command the office he holds. That's his view, he wanted to express them. He also thinks Tony Parker should start... he's wrong sometimes... we just publicly scorn him and move on, tbh.
Pretty much. I didn't grow up in this country, so this whole red-blue rah rah is pretty amusing, tbh...![]()
The man has lived his life in the public eye for decades, but only magically became the worst racist/sexist/xenophobe/bigot in the world as soon as he put an "R" next to his name. It's a little silly.
