That second game was Danny's career high. I remember he was like the only person who could score for a while and right when his hot streak ended, everyone else picked it up.

To hide him... thus the slow starts and the comebacks.... bc he has to play said guy at some poin right?
No. TP is NOT the reason for the slow starts.

Could have sworn he was. For a couple of seasons now.

$14M will pay like 10 years worth of Asvel salaries. He owes it to his team to stay.
Maybe he could just go and play for his team.

Not really interested in chatting about Tony tbh...
This particular game Simmons was pretty bas the entire first half.... Danny didn't get hot until the end... but Tony didn't help much at all and Spurs made runs and won without him. You can spin it however you want.

Agreed. It is a total team lackadaisically at ude - especially on the defensive end. WAAAY more blame than just one player.

Not a spin. Pinning everything on TP is definitely not fair. Is he part of it? Sure, many times yes. But plenty of other starters have struggled numerous times as well.

So who do you start in his place?
Eventually Dijon... right now I wouldn't bench Tony, it's late in the season and Dijon hasn't been allowed to play through his issues the way a guy like Simmons has. When Tony plays well it's a different team, but he's injured so often and declined so much that Spurs inevitably have to start getting ready to pass the torch

Glad he showed up against one of the worst rosters in the NBA. If it was Parker, he'd be criticized for showing up when it counted the least but, since it's Ginobili, we have the to celebrate it. Good for him and I hope he can build upon this performance and build some momentum heading into the playoffs. Who knows, maybe he'll be that forgotten 10th man on the roster the Spurs forgot they had.

It's a 48 minute game. If the Spurs aren't going to play good for a full 48, I'd much rather them start slow and finish strong.

Tony has had his problems, but I'm really a little freaked out by how Dedmon has started to look as a starter. I hope he's just adjusting. His improved play was a big plus for the Spurs' chances in post-season.

Dijon should have been starting at least the games against sub-500 teams before now, in preparation for the passing of the torch at just about this juncture. Tony looks completely disengaged most games.

Rockets lost again tonight to Utah. Harden had 35 but was 0-8 from 3 and set a new NBA record for most turnovers in a season, breaking his own record from last year.

I sure hope he is just adjusting, too. But a part of the problem may be that we aren't looking to get him rolling with the lobs like we were.

You almost gotta feel bad for the Kings. Ouch.

I should stop doubting this team this season. They keep finding ways to come back and win.
Think they want to lose to keep their draft pick. Don't feel sorry for the franchise, but fine to feel bad for the players.

    http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2017/2...adelphia-76ers

One of reasons some pointed to for trading Cousins was to tank enough to keep their first rounder this year. If inside of 10 they keep it and they give up two seconds instead. 11 or worse and it goes to Chicago.

BKL, PHX and LAL are almost certainly ahead of them but there are 11 teams with 4 wins or less more than Sacramento. Unlikely they fall out of top 10 but don't want to risk it. Imagine if you're 10th and get jumped in the lottery (low odds).

Oh absolutely I prefer wins, I just don't like digging in a hole because we may not always be able to dig ourselves out. It's great to know our team has the ability and grit to pull these out for sure, but at what point do you want them to not rely on it or keep putting themselves in the situation and play to their ability from the start. Guess it's kind of a weird question, but what I was asking was is it more concerning that we are starting slow, or are you happier that if we are in a hole, that we can dig out.
I am more concerned about the extremely slow starts. You can't continually win uphill battles.

Some teams show dominance by blowing teams out. Some do it by spotting their opponent an entire quarter.

Amazing how we can win by 10 despite missing our MVP, our second best player, and not a player scoring 20 points. I know the Kings are horrible sans Cousins but that's still an impressive win.
