Keith Olbermann decimates Devin Nunes: He’s acting ‘like a guy who’s about to flee the country’
Keith Olbermann on Monday railed into the drip, drip, drip of Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, noting the question is “not blowing over,” and instead boils down to one word: “Treason.”
“The Russia story continues to grow grimmer and bigger and deadlier,” Olbermann said in his latest installment of “The Resistance.”
“The word ‘treason’ has been invoked now by the most unlikely of sources,” he continued, noting even former George Bush ethics lawyer Richard Painter has used that term to describe the Trump-Russia connection.
Olbermann added the White House “seems to be setting up [former Gen. Mike] Flynn as its scapegoat,” and that House Intel Committee chairman Devin Nunes, who served on the Trump transition team, seems to be a “spasm of panic
“This is not blowing over, this has not stopped expanding,” Olbermann said, arguing the question is now whether the person we elected president is “loyal to the United States of America or loyal to the Russian Federation.”

Running Scared: Trump Has Total Twitter Meltdown Over Russia Investigation
Trump's Monday night tweets weren't the words of somebody who is confident in his innocence. They're the rantings of a man who is terrified of being caught.
In true Trump fashion, he blasted off a series of tweets full of the conspiracy theories that fuel his distorted view of the world.

Trumps unhinged Twitter rant suggests not only that the leader of the free world is a full-fledged, tinfoil-hat-wearing conspiracy theorist, but also that he is worried these investigations will turn something damning up.

Roger Stone's defense on everything is that he was lying the last time
Donald Trump did have a relationship with Vladimir Putin and then, when that relationship became uncomfortable, he didn’t. And somehow, that’s okay.
Following the same pattern, former Trump political adviser Roger Stone previously said “I actually have communicated with Assange,” then
claimed that he had a “perfectly legal” back channel to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
He later deleted the tweet containing the second claim, but he didn’t back off his claimed pipeline into WikiLeaks.
He also claimed to have direct communication with the hackers who dipped into the DNC servers and obtained personal emails of Democratic operatives.
But now, of course, Stone says there’s no there there.
He was only talking about a friend of a friend kind of thing, and the idea that he was coordinating with the Russians in releasing do ents to WikiLeaks is silly.
That Podesta thing, in which Stone predicted what WikiLeaks was going to publish before they published it? Coincidence.
The communications with the claimed front man for the hackers? Just a pat on the virtual back.
The tweet was just a hunch, he says, and the DMs never went anywhere, and only started because Stone had seen the hacker get banned from Twitter, didn't like it, and wanted to express support when he saw Twitter reverse its decision, to send "him a high-five saying, ‘Glad you're reinstated,’ because I'm against censorship.” …
But if he was communicating with Assange through an intermediary, I asked, why say in that Florida speech he was communicating with him himself — notably in the same week in August that he’d said on a separate conference call that he knew there more emails coming?
“I see no inconsistency there,” Stone said.
And you know Stone remains a serious threat to Democrats, because they’re trying to kill him …
He has also claimed that he may have been poisoned in December and targeted in a car accident two weeks ago in an effort to stop him from speaking out.
But the biggest thing offending Roger Stone these days isn’t secret Democratic hit men. It’s the sad denial he’s getting from the Trump regime.
A member of Trump’s circle for nearly 40 years, Stone officially departed the presidential campaign just a few months in, but remained close to the action and infighting.
After those first few months, Stone says, he received no money, directly or indirectly, from Trump or the Trump campaign, despite running several supportive operations and continuing to talk to Trump throughout, continuing in the last few weeks
(Trump has told him not to say “Mr. President,” he said, but to keep calling him “Donald”).
Stone also wants it known that he does have his limits.
“Technically, I wouldn't be a rat er. You see, rat er is sending 10 pizzas to the Democratic headquarters. That's stupid. That's puerile. That's not winning any votes. That's rat ing,” Stone said.
“And any serious political operative wouldn't waste their time with stuff like that.”
So, based on past actions, if you get a big pizza order—it’s probably Roger Stone.

Nunes fumbles as Blitzer grills him over clandestine White House visit
Blitzer asked Nunes if he understands why it “might be con uous for the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee to visit” the White House hours before unilaterally deciding to inform the president of potential intelligence gathered on Trump and members of his team.
Nunes argued there was nothing clandestine about meeting a source at the White House, adding, “if I wanted to, I could have snuck onto White House grounds at night when nobody would have seen me.”
Blitzer pressed Nunes on “who cleared [him] for admission” at the White House, arguing, “eventually these records, they’re going to come out anyhow.”
“Why not disclose it now if it’s going to be released in the near-future?” Blitzer asked. “You understand how all of this looks and why it’s causing such an uproar?”
Nunes argued the potential unmasking of additional names “bothered [him] enough for him to consider it “completely appropriate … to go to the president with this.”
At one point, Nunes grew exasperated by the magnitude of Blitzer’s question, complaining, “this is a lot of questions.”
“Do you understand why it might have been better to avoid this kind of meeting at the White House,” Blitzer asked again.
The CNN host also pressed Nunes about the president’s tweets alleging Obama had wiretapped him prior to the election.
“You don’t believe that, do you?” Blitzer asked, adding, “He should not feel vindicated?”
