Assad allies say U.S. attack on Syria air base crosses 'red lines'
A joint command center made up of the forces of
Russia, Iran and militias supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad
on Sunday said the U.S. strike on a Syrian air base on Friday crossed "red lines" and it would respond to any new aggression and increase its support for its ally.

Trump Administration Is Contradicting Itself On Regime Change In Syria
The secretary of state says there’s no change to U.S. policy, but the U.N. ambassador says there can be no peace with Syrian President Bashar Assad.
The Trump administration appears divided on whether the U.S. is pursuing a policy of regime change in Syria,
Thursday’s strike “was related solely to the most recent horrific use of chemical weapons,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on Sunday. The goal of the attack was to send a message to Syrian President Bashar Assad and its ally Russia that the U.S. wouldn’t tolerate the use of chemical weapons, he continued. “Other than that, there is no change to our military posture.”
But United Nations AmbassadorNikki Haley said there can be no peace in Syria with Assad in power. “There’s not any sort of option where a political solution is going to happen with Assad at the head of the regime,” she told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday. “Regime change is something that we think is going to happen because all of the parties are going to see that Assad is not the leader that needs to be taking place for Syria.

Bookaki...military posture and diplomatic posture are mutually exclusive. We can advocate to the Russians to dump Assad and help coordinate a regime change without sending in troops to force regime change.
And why would the russians do that, got?
this would have been cheaper.
I remember that time DMC said Russia isn't our enemy
dparg or whatever his name is is still waiting a week to assess the situation.![]()
He also said that Trump was so moved by the pictures of dead children that he forewarned his buddy who dropped a bomb on those children about the incoming tomahawks.
AP drawing anonymous US officials out of a hat
AP anon official #1
"But the official said the presence of the surveillance drone over the hospital couldn't have been a coincidence, and that Russia must have known the chemical weapons attack was coming and that victims were seeking treatment. The official, who wasn't authorized to speak publicly on intelligence matters and demanded anonymity, didn't give precise timing for when the drone was in the area, where more than 80 people were killed. The official also didn't provide details for the military and intelligence information that form the basis of what the Pentagon now believes."
AP anon official #2
"Another U.S. official cautioned that no final American determination has been made that Russia knew ahead of time that chemical weapons would be used. That official wasn't authorized to speak about internal administration deliberations and spoke on condition of anonymity."
