DarrinS - Haven't you seen all of the articles about Trump and Russia?
Spurminator - Yes, but those have typically been about possible collusion / cooperation with Russia in the election. Also, while there has been a lot of speculation about that possibility, there is an actual investigation into that effect and actual officials have either resigned, been fired, or had to recuse themselves. So, it's kind of newsworthy whether you believe it's a "narrative" or not.
DarrinS - So why would Trump bomb Assad's air base if he's in cahoots with Putin? Obviously the MSM narrative about the election implies that Trump is now a puppet for Putin to push whatever agenda he wants.
Spurminator - That may be your interpretation of the narrative, and that of some liberals, but show me where the MSM has pushed the idea that Trump would go along with Putin on supporting Assad just because Putin wanted him to win the election.

Spurminator - Exactly. It's perfectly reasonable to believe that Trump (or members of his administration) might have allowed Russia to help the win the election without having to believe that Trump was going to partner with Putin on all subsequent foreign policy decisions.

I was assuming that the MSM was pushing the idea of ongoing Russia/US collusion because that seems to be what the far left believed was happening, but now that I've looked for actual articles, I realize that assumption was false and foolish. Thank you for challenging my beliefs and forcing me out of my habit of deflecting uncomfortable conversations with snark.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Mr. Trump is doing a good job with Syria, Russia, China and North Korea. He has them all completely off balance and his strike against Syria makes him look serious. He has the upper hand. For the first time, China is now putting pressure on North Korea. Russia's diplomats are screaming confusion and Syria hasn't dared use chemical weapons again. It's amazing. He's winning right now.
