It's not even close to a "makeup" game for all the over the years until it happens in the WCF or better.
Yeah, but you don't usually see teams come with the aggressive traps and double teams like the Griz did tonight. And they did a LOT of slapping and grabbing in the process. They really sold out trying to keep Kawhi from beating them.
But, yeah, I think that's the most FTA's Kawhi has had in a single game.

maybe they needed to go to him when the bench lineup gave up the lead (I can't recall the lineup exactly) and what not.
They maybe could have gone to Lamarcus more. They all lost focus in that 3rd Q and just got out of their sets and offense and what not.

Edit : I probably spelled his name wrong, but I don't care after that from him. If James Harden and other superstars get those calls, then Kawhi deserves them too. He gets fouled more than enough to get free throws. What a . Should have called even more fouls on the Griz. Both Pau and LA were fouled a lot, and they didn't get anywhere near enough calls when the Grizz mauling them anytime down low - both on and off the ball. How about those fouls? What does the Memphis coach have to say about that?

It wasn't all because he was deferring. There was one play that I commented on during the game. Randolph was just beating the out of LMA off the ball. Patty finally wound up passing it to him, and while the ball was in the air Randolph just gave a huge two-armed shove in his back. He took the pass 5-6 feet farther from the rim than he had been when Patty started the pass. That's what he was dealing with most of the night.
He defended very well, and he didn't cough the ball up a lot with all that contact. And he kept one of their bigs from helping most of the time. It doesn't always show up in the stat line.

Yes, he had his hands full. He looked bad there when Griz were coming back but overall had to battle the Grizzlies main strength all night long, and won.
He used to drive me crazy when he was an assistant for Miami. He would scream, shout, and clap in the ear of players while they were shooting, dribbling, etc. Only coach who regularly does that. Did it to us in the Finals in '13 & '14 often.
