I don't think people realize how good MEM offense has been since Game 3. If MEM played like this all year they would be a top 3 team. They are going HAM and its Conley (expected) and other guys (definitely not expected).
Good news is, even with great shooting tonight, MEM was down double digits most of the game. Spurs "others" were 2-20 from 3 in MEM and went to OT.
I'm saying he's always been a huge liability on defense and that his offense rarely makes up for it.
is the new conference up yet?
So much for the "if #Spurs can't win when Kawhi scores 43, they're in trouble" narrative. They're better when Kawhi doesn't have to get 43.
I mean Patty is not going to go 7-10 with 5-7 from 3 every game... there are concerns for sure...
Yes I mentioned it in a comment to someone who mentioned Kawhi needed to shoot more when he was making plays for everyone out there. He's better when he gets his and gets others going too.
Spurs should not need that many 3's from Mills if MEM is not fluking out themselves. Point is when Spurs play well they blow MEM out. When MEM plays great and SA plays awful SA usually still hanging around.
This.
Glad they didn't blow this, if so I was gonna login and start ranting at Pop
what a tough series. Fizdale's whininess makes me even more pissed when Spurs are down.
True. Green could've provided the same 3-point barrage but with elite D as well. Just Poop trying to prove his detractors wrong by stubbornly sticking to his favoured defensively-challenged lineup to close out the game. Luckily it didn't blow up in his face this time around.
TP eventually matched KL assists.
They all came on the Mills threes, haha
Place was packed crowd was electric so Darius beiber can eat a . And a lot of you made fools of yourselves.
Deadman comes up with some seriously athletic rebounds, and he has remarkable ability to switch onto smalls and guard them on the perimeter. When he got the starting nod, I thought he would become a solid starter for this team. But he just continued to commit those dumb fouls. He and Simmons are such teasers.
Memphis' shooters have made way more than their share of circus shots. Nothing you can do about that. I thought they were better than their record. But you're right - if they shot like this all the time, they wouldn't have been a 7 seed.
One thing I'm sick of watching is Memphis' big coming out like they are hedging, but extending their arms and grabbing at our guards. I don't understand why the league has decided to allow that . I respect a good hedge. But when you don't get there in time, you don't get to just reach out and grab the guy as he circles around the top of the circle. Memphis has done that all series, and it s with the flow/timing of the offense badly. If I hat those two big bas s on my team, I would probably try the same thing. My beef is with the refs not calling it. The physicality has been the other big difference maker in this series. But that one play is something refs have to call, at least once in a while.
this doesn't change anything.
But I do think Pop is probably tightening leashes and rotations, and it was good to see Manu back. Without him back Spurs don't win this. He was missing, AWOL... however we want to call it.
Still same team... still same chances.
I have a su ion it's not good that we are getting this heavy dose of David Lee, but I hope he proves me wrong.
This was like a Magic Johnson statement, no offense.![]()
Kill yourself dale
Priceless
I'm sure it was all in good spirit, tbh.
I wonder why Pop is really limiting Pau's minutes. Lee getting more court time
