    Plus, he's looking for a deal. By US law, there's no such thing as 'safe passage'. The DOJ is part of the executive, which is independent from the judiciary. The only way he could get that 'safe passage' is an offer of immunity on this particular case and the DOJ dropping the other criminal cases against him. Otherwise, as soon as he sets foot in the US, the judge(s) will have him arrested (he's been indicted already, in 2012). Heck, a judge might still have him arrested if there's a civil case pending.

    Considering the influence of music and movie studios in politics and the fact that the US already won his extradition, that request is very unlikely to succeed, IMO.

    I'm not emotionally invested in partisan politics like you are, tbh, I couldn't care less what happened to that Rich guy. Dotcom is just really in need of a deal after that extradition setback, and that makes this whole thing stink.
