If the spurs are shopping Lamarcus for a lottery pick I would bet they intend to flip that pick for the Unicorn.

This isn't surprising to me because of how the WCF unfolded and was an eye opener to PATFO for 2 reasons:

    1. Spurs roster was too reliant on Kawhi.
    2. LA is not a "take over the game" type player (can't have a 5 and 6 point game...).
Guys less gifted than him physically, with less size, one only a couple of seasons removed from the dleague, one a 160 pd rookie, another a slow guy who has played out of position all season (that's when he was playing) all these guys played better than Lamarcus. He wasn't even trying sometimes... I don't think that will sit well with Patfo and the double standard is a seed of discord. Those guys don't get to play unless they compete their ass off. How can Lamarcus get off the hook? What is the example he's setting?. He got benched in that game 4. It wasn't insignificant.

Forgot to mention 39 year old Manu also outplayed him but Manu is a HOF player....

Starting to think those rumors from Jackie MCMullen were true in preseason ... I bet at the time Spurs weren't getting enough return to feel comfortable pulling the trigger.

I had forgotten about Jackie. She didn't ever get very specific, though, as I recall.

LA would committ to PHX long term if traded there. He regretted not going there by AS break his 1st year here from my source.

Then we shared the same regret. I wish PHX would rise to the occasion.

Do you actually have inside information or a you just taking guess when rumors are announced?

Very vague response. What wasn't the best about his exit meeting? The Spurs weren't happy with him, or was he not happy with the Spurs, or both?

Not sure how SA can be happy with a player who regressed after they gave him max money to be THE guy. He came into BOTH seasons out of shape, how can they be happy with that?

Now, of course Pop would never admit or show their true thoughts on him during the season.

Well that what I thought, but then I recall hearing an interview with Pop after the Warriors series or one of those games where he kind of defended him a little bit. He said something along the lines of players had to play different roles because of all the injuries and that is hard to do. He said something like that, and I thought is this guy crazy, is he sticking up for the putrid performance of some of these guys?

Interesting. Did he say what the reason was? Not enough shots? Didn't fit in with the team culture? What made him regret it?

This would be great, if true. There are some quality young bigs in the lottery and the Spurs would have a ton of flexibility to remake the roster around CP3 and Kawhi. Maybe keep Simmons and/or Green. I'd bring back Lee as the starter and groom the young big as a backup, calll it a day.

You will never hear Pop talk bad about his player to the media. Hes never done it in 20 yrs. You shpuld expect that kind of response if you know better

No details. Just told me last summer that LA still prefered to be in PHX. Wasnt comfortable.

I'd be happier if it was LMA for Porzingis.
Is all about Phil´s mood I guess.

I thought at the time Pop was considering covering for him so as to not depress his value more (and protect his ego)... he was already being criticized by the media.

Sacramento has cap and while I doubt they'd want to trade the 5 I think they'd do the ten.

Fox/Hield/????/Aldridge/WCS maybe Gay... that would be a very compe ive team imo. And to have his Bird rights might be the difference cause no one will want to pay him 30+ and with all that cap they can afford to. I'd only do the ten is if Zach Collins is available

Barkley and the Jet pretty much drove LMA's stock down.

I would love for the spurs to trade Aldridge for a top pick that would allow them to target Jonathon Isaac. Kid reminds me of Greek freak. Would do wonders to our length and athleticism on defense.
