You bake them a cake that says "I'm sorry we tried to trade you"
Oh they want a younger player and not fathead. So
Aldridge, Forbes, Green, 1st round pick and the 2nd round pick for K.Porzingis?
You bake them a cake that says "I'm sorry we tried to trade you"
Trading for picks doesn't mean they are rebuilding. That $20m could be used to sign veteran free agents like Chris Paul.
They're not trading him for salary. They can get good players on cheap contracts (picks) and have enough money to spend on vets. It's the best they can do.
Hopefully we never find out.
Give it up.
I am thinking a deal with Minnesota could work. I could see the following:
LMA and 29th for Rubio, Rush (or Jordan Hill) and the 7th pick. It gets us a pass first pg a decent shooter (back up big) and a lottery pick. There are other trades that I would prefer but I could see this one actually being done.
Gimme a starting lineup of
Murray, Hill, Green, Kawhi and any big not called Aldridge or Gasol for just a single game next season!
Wait...Pau Gasol that is.
They pretty much are with Aldridge wanting out.
RC if he trades for Scrubio
Seriously. Spurs aren't adding KP unless a deal includes at least Murray and two firsts given they won't be good firsts, plus Aldridge or Green. Or Kawhi, but that's never happening
Yeah the Spurs would have to "Give It Up" as you just said..
Aldridge, Forbes, Green, 1st round pick and the 2nd round pick for K.Porzingis?
Probably that already happened with LMA in the summer of 2016 so don't worry. He can't play any worse.
Lol at all these re ed trade packages for Porzingis. He's not coming to the Spurs, period. Deal with it.
Spurs probably are the least probable destination Porz is going too. We don't have the assets and Phil hates Pop. So yeah...please give it up.
Then the Knicks laugh and hang up.
Zero chance Portland would offer all 3 1st-round picks to us for Aldridge...
Hold onto Aldridge. Let him up his trade value before the deadline since he is going to opt out most likely, he may be under a contract year and it might light a fire under his ass. Then we might get something in return that has more value. This still is a team that made it to the WCF.
The timing of the report that the spurs are interested in d rose is interesting.
Gives flexibility if a porzing is deal can be worked out. Knicks can sign and trade him as part of the deal. Still think there is no way in he'll the spurs can get kristaps. If the knicks insist on throwing in Noah then that should be a deal breaker.
I'm cool with getting a bag of chips for him, tbh. Team will be better off by just not having this huge cancer for 35 minutes per game out there.
In related news, Gunther Gabriel died today. Maybe we can trade LMA for his corbs. Make it happens PATFO!
I am just trying to think within the realm of possibility. I could also see a trade with Orland: Jeff Green, Jodie Meeks #6 and #33 for LMA and #29.
