Is it really a bad move to not bite on PG, who won't stay, and give up all those great picks? Now he can wait for someone else to become available who might actually stay. Better than getting rid of them, losing him next year, and ending up with nothing at all.
Yup. There was just word today that he still plans on signing with the Lakers. It's a desperation move for OKC. It's like false blind faith that's gonna be the straw that broke the camels back. Westbrook will leave too.

And who drafted Hill who turned into Kawhi. That's even better GMing tbh
Come on man, the Spurs were just looking for a strong wing with decent size that could provide close to what Bruce Bowen did. They had RJ at the time and it was obvious they wanted to move away from him in the worst way. They had no ing idea Kawhi would turn himself into a Superstar.

Oladipo was an Indiana Hoosier in college. In a small market like that, little dumb connections like that matter, imo.
That's the most plausible explanation I've seen. Thanks!

And bro you think they imagined Ginobili would be an all star or 6th man with the 57th. Or Parker to a lesser extent. So it's ok to hail Presti but not give credit to R.C.

    C'mon man

the fact is it worked out.

Which also explains why the Pacers will never again make a deal with the Spurs. They got humiliated with that trade!

Exactly. Probably why no one wanted to trade for LMA for a top 10 only to be remembered like that...

lol. Brilliant. RC's next phone call should be to Kawhi. Picture RC sitting in a very cheap motel room with a half drunk bottle of cheap whiskey sitting on the table and a dirty glass next to it, then cue Bradley Cooper phone call from The Hangover where RC starts to conversation with by Kawhi by saying "ahh, we ed up." After he hangs up the phone hoping Kawhi doesn't have thoughts of bolting, he downs another glass, stands up and straightens up his crooked tie before departing to go to his meeting with Andre Iguodala.
    Classic👍🏾

Not a peep on Millsap. We all know Spurs first option in free agency usually doesn't pan out (except Aldridge) and they sign someone else that was never on their radar or at least reported from more than one credible source

a 57th pick is a throw away. That is pure luck. Are you trying to argue that the front office is great and knew that Manu and Kawhi would be as good as they turned out to be?

How exactly did the pacers get fleeced. Were they going to draft Kawhi with that pick but the idea of George hill swayed them from doing so?

They had a need at a position. It didn't cost them much at all. G hill was a proven compe or in the league. Pacers fielded a strong team for a couple seasons. Front Office for the pacers don't look stupid for that trade. They look stupid with what they did with that roster seasons moving forward.

#Twolves will inquire on a number of FAs the next many hours. Two fresh names on their radar, I hear: bigs Ekpe Udoh and Dewayne Dedmon.

Rofl and he would sign there too. Looks like we will settle for George Hill and maybe Iggy

Hopefully the Spurs stand pat, been my ideal plan since the beginning, will no longer have to deal with all the dead weight that will come off the books, next year..would be a disaster if they waste contracts on players like Iguodala, tbh..

Man, looking at the returns for PG, CP3, and Boogie...

RC needs to be on the phone with Demps and see if he'll take Danny, LMA, and the Porkster for Anthony Davis tbh...
