There's gonna be literally nobody anywhere near worth the max wanting to take those spots next year regardless.
What about the 2019 class? They can just sign 1 year contracts next off-season similar to the Red deal and try hard for 2019? I don't think Kawhi would like that, though.

When the Spurs move to Austin they'll be able to sign all kinds of players and the value of the franchise will increase substantially.

SA will get a g-league team.
Austin has smarter, richer, and sadly slimmer fans. Plus the nightlife and women are great by Texas standards. Would be smart if attracting free agents matters to this team tbh..

You think this could happen? Haven't seen any rumors. I'm not local so when I travel to see them that could kill two birds with one stone.

No offense to San Antonio residents, but I would prefer the spurs were located in austin. Every time I visit Austin I have so much fun. Such a cool city with so much to do or get into.

My kind of city for sure.

So you're saying it's really not the Spurs' FO's fault? It's the lack of ho's and drugs and ? I guess it's really pretty amazing that the Spurs have gotten as many players as they have over the years. It's a wonder they can even fill a 15 man roster. Seems like even a min contract would be enough to buy a lot of ho's and drugs and .

Then again... a 45 minute commute to Austin, to enjoy all those things, is probably shorter than the daily commutes in LA. If they can drive an hour in LA, why can't they drive 45 minutes to Austin if they live here?

Is Austin that much different/better than San Antonio? How far away is it?

Holt's bean counters are going to tally up the increase in value of the Spurs franchise in Austin compared to SA. Only a matter of when. Definitely by the time a new arena is needed.

That's what I'm saying. People in LA don't live next door to every ing bar. Especially not the wealthy ones. My wife grew up there, and when we go back we drive an hour or more to every damn thing we want to do. Maybe when the Spurs should put Austin on their recruiting tour, and the problem is solved?

Ingles is Hayward's best friend on the team, along with Georgie. His return to Utah confirmed.

A little under two hours away. Whiter, more expensive, more hipster, more liberal, younger, etc. University of Texas is there. It's a cool city but the Spurs have too much history in SA to make that move. Good luck getting hipsters/liberals to help fund a new arena too.

Would rather just turn it into an SA-Austin Metroplex like DFW. Would help in getting an NFL team and MLS.

I think George Hill and his agent may have overplayed their hands ..They were dumb to refuse that Jazz extension. Now, Knicks are his last hope for a fat contract, but even Phil isn't there anymore..

Ingles is one of Gordon Hayward's closest friends on team, and shares Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports as an agent.

Spurs will end up signing him in a friendly deal and trot out 6 PG's next year to help Kawhi tbh.

Ingles deal: 4 years, $52M, source says.
For a 7 point/3 rebound player. If someone offers Simmons a poison pill deal, it's going to come out to just about that much isn't it?

So if the Spurs match a poison pill offer for Simmons that's more or less the same as Patty. And the Spurs would have around 25% of the cap tied up for the next four years, in Simmons and Mills? I don't understand how these new contracts are going to work under the salary cap.

They messed up last year, with that huge cap increase all at one time. Now the ripple effects are hitting, as better players realize that they should be worth MUCH more than these guys. (LeBron came out and said that Curry is under-paid with his new $201M contract.) I don't know if Patty/Simmons/Ingles are all worth $12M+ per season. But when you have $100M to work with, it's hard to fit many of those contracts in. And you sure as can't build a championship team out of guys that level.

It's a win win for the Spurs. LMA has to try for that contract. This is his livelihood he is ing with. Not the Spurs.
Thank you. Of course it's Dabom with the heady agreement with yours truly. Aldridge and his being a . You want a contract? Play your ass off. And he will. You think he's the type of puss that will pop off at Pop during practice? Pop?

He knows GM's now think less of him disregarding the Spurs Way, rather than giving Him the benefit of the doubt. He better bust his butt and not be a distraction, but that's not a problem.
He's not that guy. He's passive-aggressive and his contract year is not the time to be passive. He took his chance and got rebuffed hard. His trade value right now should be hitting him hard.

He either gets it together and earns that next contract, or he completely implodes and it's all good. We'll be rid of him and he can rot.
