Don't understand Spurs fans longstanding fascination with Valanciunas. They need to get more modern bigs, not go even more traditional. He's literally the an hesis of today's game. Can't defend in space or at rim, can't pass or dribble, limited range, low IQ.

The league really does need to contract. It'll never happen, but it really does. It would make the overall product so much better on several levels.
Silver is too much of a puss to do much of anything and contracting teams probably means losing money and we can't have that.

but I would like the talent to be spread out.
No having 4 top 15 players in the same team.
It's actually the stars conglomerating in a few teams that makes the league dilluted.

That's almost worse in a way because the team is willing to lay all the pressure in Kawhi to singlehandedly carry the team to a championship. What if he gets injured again? It sounds like a much more dangerous plan than anything.

So they should go balls out for Kyle Lowry or Paul Millsap, churning over their entire roster? What guy do they have a realistic shot at that moves the needle beyond where an effective "stand pat" strategy?

I actually believe the Spurs have 2 players already on the roster that could be long-term sidekicks for Leonard in Bertans/Murray. I see the upside in both. I trust the front office and their track record. Nobody expected Parker/Ginobili to be the sidekicks for Duncan at first. This is the best option we have right now.
