Dejounte's mentor about to hit the market.
I know they are close, but Murray already plays too much like him. Don't want him anywhere near Murray

So we finally get a wing who can score, maintain our cap space for 2019 AND dump Jamal's useless ass? Yep, Jerry West is officially in charge. Don't care what his le is. Doc could never pull that off.

I mentioned S&T a week or so ago, and a couple of the cap experts said that it was a thing of the past, in the new CBA. Obviously that was wrong.

Yeah, a lot of people haven't accepted yet just how much West factored in putting that GSW team together.

I think the reason behind saying S&T are "dead" was two-fold:

    1. It triggers a hard cap. That is kind of a big deal.

    2. With the newest CBA, the player doesn't gain anything by doing the S&T now because they can't get the 5th year unless they stay with their current team.

Spurstalk has jaded so many people.

SAgirl has been watching basketball for 2 or 3 years and acts like she knows more than Pop and the FO.

The Spurs were not going to trade away LMA unless they were able to get a decent return for him. Obviously, other teams were not willing to give up a top 5 pick for him or Porzingod or anything else worth letting go of your 2nd best player for... and yes, LMA is the second best player on this team.

Once you realize that was not going to happen, then what else did you want the Spurs to do this summer? Let Patty walk and spend the money on George Hill? Maybe that makes the team better, but it's slightly better at best. Patty was going to get paid this summer. If Parker doesn't get hurt there is probably a higher probability he isn't on the team, but everything changed when he went down.

Overall, this is a very good basketball team. They don't need wholesale changes. Let's let the rest of the offseason play out and see where they stand, but if the plan is to run it back with a few minor changes, I'm on board.

West also picked up Jawun Evans who alot of people said played like Paul. ...and Sindarius Thornwell in the second.

He seems like a sentimental guy who wants to give Utah a good chuck under the chin before he says goodbye. But then... Utah does look like a really nice team going forward. And living in Boston in the winter sucks.
As someone from NYC, our winters ain't great but pale in comparison to Boston's. Boston is a solid city the other 9 months though. It's a little stale for me, but way more to do than Utah.

You're completely right. But this board is filled with a lot of people who have no idea what they're talking about. Part of it is there are no mods. There are idiotic factions about Parker and Ginobili and stupid ideas about what the FO is supposed to do every summer. It's always the same.

The dude is from Indiana, though, which is as boring as stale . He doesn't seem like a Miami guy. He and his wife have a house in San Diego -- I can see that, a quieter, nice city. I actually think he could be happy in SLC.

It's possible but that is a lot of eggs in the injury basket with Blake and Gallo.

hope hayward stays in utah. with that mitc pickup they have a scoring option at the two now.

    Rubio/Hood/Hayward/Diaw/Gobert

    Exum/Mitc /Ingles/Johnson/Favors

    Neto/Burcs/ Bradley

Thats a very good roster. They need an upgrade at the four though...

Pop and RC need this team to win 45 games with a healthy-laden Kawhi Leonard leading the way before those jokers make changes to the roster. These 60 win fools gold seasons is what drives the FO to make very few changes. Pop needs to be an eyewitness account before He's willing to believe this team needs talent beyond Leonard. Pop and RC have been hiding behind the brilliance of Tim Duncan for 20 years and now they're finally being exposed for the frauds that they are.

It's pretty incredulous that the FO and Pop see nothing wrong going into a season with a rookie pg who still has a ways to go, a sg who's constantly being shoehorned into the pg position with sub par results, a 40 year old pg that doesn't know when It's time to quit and a 34 pg coming off a ruptured quad that says He'll be better than ever when he returns. Seriously, the only reason the Spurs aren't making a play for Teodosic is because they already know Ginobili is coming back for another season.
They are begging 41 year old Manu to come back.... begging. Then I am sure they believe in Tony when he's saying he will be back better than ever. They only made a half hearted attempt to trade LMA bc he got pissy and asked for it. And frankly some of their young guys are no worse than many who are given away as assets in trades when someone better is traded with a package. They just won't consider it.

Yes, they had rotten luck with injuries this past season but the season b4 it was Timmy and in 2015 it was Tony again. This stage of the "passing" of the old big 3 was going to be rough and they are doing better than One could imagine but that's no reason to be complacent.

Hard cap? For that move only, right? I guess I better go look that one up to see exactly how it works I practice.

The fifth year I knew about, but that doesn't impress me as much. Sometimes a sign and trade is just a way of getting a deal don and making everyone happy. But, yeah, for those guys who are eligible for a fifth year, and can command it, it's a big deal.

Thanks, though. That makes the earlier comments make sense. It sounded like they were saying S&T was a thing of the past.

Still believe the spurs are the second best team. Maybe the young guys grow during the season and can break rotation late. White will be able to. You're not really losing much in dedmon if he walks, as he did very little in the playoffs when teams game planned for him. That's the issue when you have no offensive skill set. Would like Lee, but also want to see bertans get a shot.

Don't see why the spurs cant be better this year if they end up with a better bench by signing some cheap role players. The spurs starters, without parker, outplayed the gsw starters a few times last season. They just couldn't walk off the court without it imploding. Get some bench players and roll the dice. Spurs have as good a shot as any taking down the warriors as long as kawhi remains mvp caliber. Don't see why he wouldn't tbh.

Murray and Danny's tweets about Manu give you a feeling of the locker room. Pop with his bar of soap comments and end of season comments... begging is my exaggeration but they obviously want him back and have asked him to be bac then it's up to him.

To be fair, there are a lot of jackasses on here but I saw quite a few people make quality posts/objections in their responses to you and you disregarded them as trolls as opposed to have a meaningful discussion.

People like to around... some people far too much. However, you should probably try to judge each response on its own merit. Otherwise you end up looking like you shy away from any opposition view. That's a bad look. Just my two pennies.
