Anyone got a list of their free agents?
"Boston would now need a series of transactions to create cap space for Gordon Hayward. The Celtics would have to pull the qualifying offer on Kelly Olynyk, renounce free agents Jonas Jerebko, James Young, Gerald Green and waive the contracts of Jordan Mickey and Demetrius Jackson (or trade). The Celtics would be left with $27.6M in room and likely need to move the contract of Terry Rozier or Marcus Smart. Trading Rozier would have the Celtics short $1M of a max salary a lot."

Damn, that 12:01 panic move could be remembered here for a long time

Zach Lowe said that Mills was a desirable piece for a number of teams..Spurs panicked and jumped the gun once Hill declined to take less, afraid that somebody would entice Patty, I suppose..I love Mills, but he's not going to make or break your season, damn

George Hill and his agent played one of the worst FA games I've seen in a minute, though..
Donatas Motiejunas probably has him beat. Hill and Lance are about equal, though.

Servant left OKC, Bron left Miami, PG left, LMA left, and now Hayward...

Not a good sign with Kawhi's free agency two years away tbh.....
PATFO-- and maybe ownership too-- taking him for granted might end up being the most unforgivable mistake the franchise makes..

This off-season is lowkey a slap in the face. They could have improved but chose to think, much like in 2000 when Timmy tore his meniscus, that Kawhi injury was the only thing that was wrong with the team...A year later, they got destroyed by the Lakers with the same healthy band..

Outside the Pau opt-out, every Spur move screams "run-it-back" option as their strategic offseason choice..

I wonder what Olynyk is going to pull in free agency. Maybe he can be our Plan D to slide under Curry's feet in the second round next year.

He's going to sign for the super max next offseason once all the dust settles from FA. Spurs can offer him boatloads more than others. This was not the case for Hayward or George, or even Paul (he had 10 service years). Only Durant really gave up money.

    Hill's deal is incredible.

    Spurs got suckered so bad.

They could have even afforded that with Parker on the roster so long as they renounced Pau and Mills and Manu.

How does the super max work? When can it be signed and don't you have to be on your original team to get it?

2000 brought big defensive changes on the perimeter...... main reason Spurs had to retool.

The Mills deal won't be good unless he all of the sudden becomes a perfect fit for the Zipper series (meaning that he's able to hit long-twos at an elite rate as well as beat players off the dribble), but for all the ing about the Spurs missing the bus, people are forgetting that they are in a buyer's market with an MLE and LLE, or the RE and a good chunk of space. I heard yesterday that there are still 100 FAs out there. We're already pretty far in this Dutch auction. Will be very interesting to see where it goes.

Plus, if the past 13 months has taught us anything, it's that teams are already feeling the strain of these deals. So not only will the Spurs' expirings gain value as the year goes on, but they'll be one of the few teams (and the only good one likely) to have a max slot. I'm not a Cousins fan, but those who are should be happy the team won't have Hills and Randolphs taking up $30 Million in 2018.

Some good points there, and I'm a humongous Cousins fan, so there's that at least.

Appears Kawhi is eligible next offseason as he already made two All NBA teams. He was technically traded but it was his rights and not contract - he signed with the Spurs.

So he'll be eligible for 35% of cap a year starting next offseason vs. having to play out next season at 25% of old cap and then get 30% from a new team. Unlike the Paul situation where the dollars were actually not that far off, this is a HUGE in bent advantage.

My thoughts exactly! You beat me to it.

The Celts will have to dump a guy or two that could be worthwhile. Unfortunately they may be yet more Gs for PATFO to horde.

What I have been saying. PATFO's moves are guided by this fact of Spurs life.

Yeah Mills + Gasol will only take up $27 million.
And SA will still have a max slot without having to make any trades to open it up.
