I imagine that this was already planned when they drafted him. Hope they can get Lalanne to agree to one as well.

What's the deal with this hard cap? I thought you could sign minimum contracts no matter how far over the cap you are?
Nope. The hard cap is truly that. I honestly think the Spurs will duck the tax, though, let alone the apron.
Rakeem Christmas got waived, what do you guys think of him? How much are those 2 way contracts for $ wise? Kinda wish they would boost the salaries of the G league guys, its always been crazy low, around $25k right?
Like him, and it's likely he's the closest genetic match we're going to get to Tim. If the body-swap is going to ever work, we need to go for it now.
They'll likely be in the $300k range. Not bad.
Yeah I'm suprised, I would expect for someone to snatch him up, he didn't get many minutes in Indy but thought he had potential.
Guess it's confirmed then.
I think it's safe to assume they're going to do what they can to be under the lux tax. With what Cleveland, Portland, and Golden State are going to be paying in penalties alone, they're going to have a couple million coming to them if they're under the threshold.
Backup SG is a position of concern for sure. Maybe they're talking to boston about crowder?
A lot of teams - see my post from a few days ago. I'll update it later today.
Why do the Spurs have a hard cap? Aren't there other teams way over what the Spurs are paying?
Yes, but those teams haven't used the non-tax-payer's MLE yet. Using that is essentially a promise that SA won't go over the apron.
Crowder, who I would like to have (pipe dream) is a SF. But Simmons is still in play, and we have a plethora of combos.
What I should of asked is, does every team have a hard cap, or do you have to do something to trigger it?
You have to trigger it by using the NTP MLE or receiving a player in an S&T. If you do neither, you can spend as much as you want. GS used the TP MLE to sign Young, and the Cavs have just used Bird rights to sign Korver.
Wow. Why are they doing that? Is he looking for too much money, or do they not consider him a great prospect anymore?
Interesting. Didn't know any of that. What's the best website to go to, to read about this stuff?
What's KCP asking for 80 mil??
Less money for Simmons with every new news
