Good analysis. Detroit's roster... I don't know how they spent so much on those players.
Minnesota will be a popular pick but I think they'll disappoint.
Pistons GOT a second in the Morris deal.

Spurs would have lost much if they traded Danny Green+Kyle or Green+a pick for Bradley? He's an upgrade and I would have taken the risk. After all people here say that OKC having PG for just one year was a good move.
There weren't rumors about Spurs trying to lure Boston/Bradley but if other rumors were true they wanted to trade Green and move LMA for picks.
It seems like LMA lost his value and Danny, well, he's on a good contract but getting old. And the Spurs don't have many young assets to stay on trade negotiations which make us to think about the advantage of...having a core on the same timeline
I know they look like an awkward fit but for a team who didn't make playoffs since 2004 I wouldn't say 'overrated' if they get 7-8 seed this new season.Timberwolves started with a bang getting Butler. Teague over Hill is defensible, but latter was better fit with 3 ball dominant types already. Gibson made little sense and Crawford made even less. They should make playoffs, but are being overrated because amount of big names . . . and Wiggins isn't great.
The heavy likelihood is that Baynes has a much better feel for the game of basketball than Dedmon.
And he's cheaper.
San Antonio is an elephant graveyard, a place where old players go to retire...Danny Green will stay in SA until his 40's, Manu will play his 50th season, and Pau Gasol will sign a 2-3 year deal this offseason.
Yes. Not quite the shooter, but gives us guard penetration (big need) & coming off the bench, defense wouldn't matter so much.
They'd have lost switch ability. Re-signing him likely wouldn't have been an issue, but he wouldn't have moved the needle. George was and is different. Star player and market that can't attract one in free agency. If he walks away from extra year/money and superstar, they at least clinched superstar's extending and dumped bad contract in the process.
Think Spurs were gauging Aldridge/Green market value more so than shopping them (especially latter). Wondering if Aldridge situation was and is as bad as reported. Don't doubt he's disgruntled and would prefer move, but don't know if he's as determined as they made it sound.
7-8 seed is realistic, but expect to see a lot of 4-5 seed predictions in fall.
He doesn't, that's just stereotypical bull .
Neither is a high IQ type, but Dedmon is a superior rebounder/rim protector, which are their two greatest needs.
Stereotypical in what way? Basketball is about positioning and knowing how to play team defense and run sets. Dedmon fell out of favor because he didn't know how to do those things. I think he's a superior basketball player than Baynes potentially, but clearly the Celtics found more value in Baynes.
In the one is a foreign white player and the other is an "African-American" player way.
Dedmon fell out of favor because Pop was always going to lean on veterans in playoffs, it's virtually impossible to play 4 traditional bigs in them in '17 and they were in dire need of offense.
Word is Celtics had interest in Dedmon, but representative(s) likely priced him out of their range.
Well, he answers the question about where the Spurs would get a younger -others could say better- version of Danny Green to contain and compete against elite West guards.
Again, he's an upgrade, he's also on the same Kawhi's timeline.
But no one of Boston, Bradley, Spurs, Pistons thought like me about this trade so f*ck'em all
Or sometimes a guy is just not a natural basketball player. Not a surprise. He started playing late.
I truly wonder what the hold up is if SA is operating over the cap with regards to Pau?
Simmons ?
Shouldn't matter. They both have cap holds and if SA is not using cap space, then it should not matter. Pau you would think roster wise would be completely independent of Simmons.
I think it's obvious they're still trying to make moves. I have absolutely no idea what those moves are, but you'll know when they are done when they sign Patty.
I don't think there is a combo of superstars that can beat GSW in 7 that doesn't include Kawhi.
Well, I know that, I'm just not sure why the hold up. With Gay being signed using the non-taxpayer MLE and them operating over the cap, all they have left are minimium level contracts and one other small-exception they can use. They are fixed costs.
So signing Mills/Pau/Simmons now doesn't impact anything since they dont need their cap smaller cap holds (like Mills/Simmons) for cap space purposes. Regardless of what Mills/Simmons are signed to, the exception/min contracts SA has left after using the NTMLE are fixed.
I'm assuming the hold up with Pau is the hard cap that is now in place because they used the NTMLE to sign Gay.
Mills number appears to be fixed though so they should sign him now theoretically. Simmons is not a fixed cost so I can see them waiting there & same with Pau. Depending on if they use that other exception to add to the team could take away from what they pay Pau this year, but really not sure.
LeBron is never coming to San Antonio.
The only thing that makes sense is a trade moving more salary than we take back thereby giving us greater cap space to use on someone before we resign out guys....
