I believe rastaspur was about right, especially that we will sign another Center, as well as Pau. Perhaps he meant in place of Pau. I don't think we are losing Pau.
All doubtfull.
They called him soon as Chicaco made him unrestricted.

Can we still sign both Simmons and Gasol??
Yup... waitaminute...
Well..... looking at the roster now, something has to give.
Three real spots remaining and a 2 way contract. The 2 way contract can be disregarded for purposes of whether the spurs sign a center in addition to gasol.
Gasol is coming back. A handshake deal was made a while ago. Patfo may be overrated, but they aren't snakes in the grass. If they made a deal with gasol they aren't going to him over. So he is back unless someone comes along and throws money at him he can't refuse.
Manu is most likely coming back.
So that leaves one spot and a choice between Simmons or another big.
If the spur's bring back Simmons then pop is going to be playing aldridge at center about half his time on the court.
The problem would then become if you sign Simmons and then he takes the spot for an extra big then if aldridge gets traded during the season then the team will have to get a center or big man in return. Otherwise, the roster will be down to two legit big guys, joffrey and pau.
That would be an awful predicament for the spurs to get themselves into.
As much as I hate it, it makes sense to trade danny or another guard if Simmons comes back.

With the way the NBA is today, it makes no sense to trade Danny.
Im very confident Manu will be back for around 4 million.
Simmons will too likely.
And so will Pau.
Front court will likely be
Gay/ Bertans/ Anderson
LMA/ Pau/ Joffrey
Yep if Manu and Simmons both return someone will have to go if we want to add a Center. Like someone mentioned, even if playing small a lot is the plan, it's hard to not think we add a fourth big. Maybe not, Pop sure didn't play Dedmon much in the playoffs, but the RS is a long one.
Looks like Atlanta is in talks with Dedmon
It's looking like Dedmon and his agent have really overvalued him, tbh..seems like they're asking for too much, every team that has reportedly contacted him has opted to go with a cheap big instead, so far..

Source: Eric Griffin is drawing significant NBA interest from several teams, Utah Jazz included, he might opt-out of his Italian deal.
Eric Pincus @EricPincus
I hear guard Brandon Paul,26-year old who recently played in Turkey (and from Illinois) is close to landing an NBA deal . . .

Paul was on fire today against the Summer Golden Showers. He wasn't as hot as La Carabina Forbes but he was killing them softly fo'sho.
The Spurs will then lose the advantages of the rookie scale deal. If they think Mulutinov is going to be with the team in the next year or so it is a mistake to give up the advantages of the rookie wage scale.
It could be why Forbes is getting so much run over Murray in summer league. I know Forbes is outplaying him, but it is summer league. You would expect Murray to get as many reps as possible. Could be Forbes is going to get cut so they are looking to at least get a 2nd round pick for him in a trade. I can't believe they would go into the season without at least 4 bigs.
The rumor is that Spurs wanted a big but was undercut by Utah. So they got a guard. Which is one guard too many!
Forbes play in SL is impressive because in the last game, he scored by getting contact instead of in the 3 point line. So that says he's got some versatility in his offense.
If you remember the last two SL leagues, Spurs played Anderson a ton. They are doing the same with Forbes, he looks exhausted out there but he still is able to put up numbers. In contrast, Spurs barely play Murray. He sat out one game and played only one half in the last game. Perhaps he's not healthy.
The next couple of days are going to be key. Spurs need to know if Simmons is signed. Ginobili may likely come back, heck if Vince Carter can come back then he is going to do the same! I am sure there's till that 76'er offer for him to play over there. The Kings have realized that you want to have your talent surrounded with vets for them to learn the game (Hill, ZBo and VC). So other teams are valuing that presence too and are willing to pay top dollar for 'the education'.
Pretty confident Manu will be back for around 4 million.
Thanks. Learned a lot just by reading your post.
Manu, Mills and Gasol could be our teachers then?
Very significant that Murray has played very little while looking like a guy who needs a lot of practice and repe ion. It's very strange. I hadn't seen that previously from a summer league stint.
I seem to recall George Hill dominating in his second summer league, Kyle Anderson played really good in his second summer league, Kawhi, in his second season dominated the summer league and got pulled out early. Even Bryn Forbes is killing it this year. Murray, I'm not sure what is going on with him. He looks really bad.
Exactly. Like he's going to stir the pot before the season even starts so they can ask him about free agency every one of the next 365 days.
Pau Gasol sees himself a Spur for a long time
This is no surprise to most people, but there seem to be a few people who still think the Spurs are going to pull the rug out from Pau after convincing him to opt out.
For the time being, I think we can safely pencil him into the roster. Where does that leave us...
Mills/Murray/Parker/White
Green/Forbes
Leonard/Anderson/Blossomgame
Aldridge/Gay/Bertans
Gasol/Lauvergne
The top 10 is filled with Spurs; Manu, Simmons, lee, Pau, dedmon
