The only thing he has for sure is a QO. The 9 million was a rumor from the press and it might be the max the Spurs are willing to give him if he can find an offer for them to match. We don't really know.

Yeah I guess we don't know if it was for real and he over played his hand. At any rate I hope he gets paid. His story is easy to get behind. Think 9 million is not going to happen though.
I believe I saw Sham with that story. Followed him for a while, he's one of the few who gets it right more often than not.
Simms ain't a star player, so I expected him to have to wait it out. Confident the Spurs want him, gave him a legit offer and that they fully understand he needs to get the most he can out of this contract.
I've had plenty of disagreements with Pop and the Spurs over decisions on the court, but I also know they try to do right by the players when it comes to their careers on and off the court.

btb, it could easily be a move to replace Simmons. Even moving Murray, signing another PG wouldn't necessarily make sense. Paul seems athletic, and he's 26, which seems to be the team's favorite age for prospects
he had a pretty solid season in Turkey, but why the do we need another guard?!
we are obviously not going to have this many guards on the team when the season comes. every summer we sign players that wind up becoming distant memories so not really concerned. best to wait until october before making any sort of judgments.
