I guess if you are going to do drugs you should pop them and not inhale them?
Yahoo NewsPALM BEACH, Fla., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to media and other inquiries, Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, released the following statement today concerning a settlement agreement with the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office to end the investigation of Mr. Limbaugh:
"I am pleased to announce that the State Attorney's Office and Mr. Limbaugh have reached an agreement whereby a single count charge of doctor shopping filed today by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months. As a primary condition of the dismissal, Mr. Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years. This is the same doctor under whose care Mr. Limbaugh has remained free of his addiction without relapse.
"Mr. Limbaugh and I have maintained from the start that there was no doctor shopping, and we continue to hold this position. Accordingly, we filed today with the Court a plea of 'Not Guilty' to the charge filed by the State.
"As part of this agreement, Mr. Limbaugh also has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation. The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during this 18 months, must pay $30 per month for the cost of "supervision" and comply with other similar provisions of the agreement.
A slap on the wrist for the fat bas .

Don't steal my thunder.![]()
Seriously, I think we all (on the right)appreciate what Rush has done for the cause, but sometiumes it's just time to move on. Either that or I'm getting old and just don't like him anymore.
Just think of all the people sitting in jails across the country for getting busted with a joint. Yes, there are too legal systems in America too.
LOL no wonder he had some dude filling in Tuesday that NO ONE has ever heard of.
He must of been in court. Oh well last time this came in the news his ratings go up.
It's amazing that a charge getting dropped in 18 months can cause your saliva glands to go all haywire.
Yea I remember when he was on the Ving. You could tell he would start off slow and was like all hyper when it kicked in. And he said he would take 8!! Damn move over Eniem...
WOAI's "breaking news" was misleading.![]()
You should have known this was coming when OAI switched allegence from CBS News to FAUX News. It’s hard to take OAI serious about anything anymore. I can’t even watch OAI/KMOL because the news is so sensationalized.
Well, nbadan. Was WOAI misleading or the "breaking news".
THought so.
The details about the arrest had been out there for some hours, and OAI is supposed to be a professional news organization. So if they chose to sensationalize this, for whatever reason, as RUSH being taken out in handcuffs and thrown in jail, then they clearly should have done a little more research.

.There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.
What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.
...We are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country.... This country certainly appears to be tolerant, forgive and forget. I mean, you know as well as I do, you go out and commit the worst murder in the world and you just say you're sorry, people go, "Oh, OK. A little contrition."... People say, "I feel better. He said he's sorry for it." We're becoming too tolerant, folks

WOAI radio "news" is awful, too. But it's annoying enough to make me get up in the morning.
You could just have dan or boutons call, now that would be annoying!
Right, plea bargaining is almost unheard of. Your unbiased and subjective opinions are totally refreshing.![]()
^^believe me when I say if the prosecutor had a case, after what Rush put him
through, he would be panting to get into court to prosecute Rush. Rush will have
a clean record in 18 months. Rush is cutting his cost and headaches of going
through a trial, and which would be a circus with every news media in the country
there to cover it and making their own "observations" on a hourly basis. (OJ and
Michael' trial give you a hint). His record will be expunged and it will be history and
forgotten after this little flash of a news event, which has been very low keyed and
not really made a blip on the most folks radar.
Yeah, everyone who gets busted buying 10K worth of illegal prescription drugs every month gets a plea bargain.
Palm beach CoastOn his Monday radio show, Rush Limbaugh said: "There was no arrest. There were no handcuffs. There was no perp walk. There is no charge."
However, according to a jail official, Limbaugh's surrender on a warrant and his booking at the jail certainly is an arrest.
If Limbaugh told his dittoheads that the earth is flat and the moon is made of green cheese, I have no doubt they'd believe him.
Did Rush Limbaugh Get Off Easy in OxyContin Case?
from law.com
Rebecca Rid
Daily Business Review
Law.comWhile critics say conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh got off easy in his deal last week with Palm Beach County prosecutors to avoid drug charges, some legal experts say the settlement was a fair one for a first-time drug offender.
-----------
In Palm Beach County, Edmondson said, drug offenders do not face incarceration unless they've failed opportunities to deal with their addiction and have turned to crime to maintain their drug habit.
-----------
The irony in this case, he said, is that Limbaugh long advocated tough punishment of drug offenders. In 1995, he famously said that drug users "ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."
"It would be a shame if he got what he advocates for everybody else," Lefcourt said.
Experts said Limbaugh probably got a good deal for several reasons.
Lefcourt said low-income drug users generally sell drugs or commit other crimes to finance their drug habit, while Limbaugh could afford to pay thousands of dollars for his drugs.
We should ask Tommy Chong if Limpball got off easy.
SA210=crying in his beer for every Illegal, downtrodden, bum and
homeless person in the world. SA210 must have a really bad
consious and want forgiveness. His motto: Bring me somemore of
them poor defenseless souls. I care, I really care....see....I feel their
pain....I march so therefore, I show I care. I go down under the bridge
with them, so I care, see....see....look at me....I care....I am so ashamed of my wealth.
The man entered a plea, accepted by the court, of not guilty.
This agreement doesn't even qualify as unadjudicated probation...it's a delayed acquittal.
Prosecutor didn't have a case and Rush Limbaugh wanted to avoid the time and cost of a trial that would, in all likelihood, ended in a not guilty verdict. Otherwise, the prosecutor wouldn't have accepted the deal.
Actually not. Happens everyday, even in Bexar county. Prosecutors love
it, they can take credit for something they haven't really got a case for
and defense attorneys love it, cause they can collect a wad of money and
tell their clients: Look what I got for you. Clients love it, cause they
save some money and get rid of the headaches.
Not a simple plea but a delayed acquittal. If he were not a multi-millionaire that could hire Clinton lawyer Roy Black, chances are he would have gotten something a might stiffer even if it was still a plea.
