Orrin Hatch called out Trump. Brother is a world war 2 vet. Guess he's a "cuckservative."

    John McCain. Republican. "Cuckservative."

Charles Krauthammer. Prominent conservative figure. Another "cuckservative."

    Paul Ryan. Cuckservative.

    Marion Rubio. Yet another cuckservative.

    Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. Cuckservative.

Rupert Murdoch, who told Trump (per sources) to fire that stain Bannon. Cuckservative.

Writers at the National Review, Weekly Standard. All cuckservatives, I suppose.

If anyone supports Trump at this point, just

They're either extremely deluded or have white nationalist leanings. That's all there's to it.
It's crazy. Imagine how united the GOP would be right now had Trump lost. These guys can't govern for . Give them complete control of the US and this is what happens.

It boggles my mind how everyone except the most rightwing fringe elements haven't completely turned on Trump yet over this. "Make America Great Again!" Many people would consider our contributions to World War 2 (yes, before anyone chimes in, I know we were neutral until Pearl Harbor and the Russians did a majority of the heavy lifting) the United States' defining moment in the 20th century. We ramped up our manufacturing stateside to keep our allies in constant supply and, even though coming in late, still suffered about as many casualties on the European front as the UK.

It was our "greatest" moment in the 20th century, followed by a post-war boom and optimism after defeating one of the great evils in human history. This is the "great America" Trump's base supposedly wants to return to, so it makes no sense for them to connect Nazism and White Supremacy to their #MAGA ideology. And oh yeah, if these alt-right s pulled that flying the Nazi flag in the "great" 1950s, they would've gotten the ever loving kicked out them by veterans.

Trump is an alt-right figure now, not a conservative nor republican figure.

Saying " Nazis" is the uncontested layup of American politics; Trump heaved the ball at his own basket and rushed into the stands to fight his fans.

Rubio had a chance to really take an eloquent stand today but butchered it on twitter so badly it looks like I wrote it in character.

Exactly. The fact he didn't do so confirms everyone's fears that started when he hired Bannon.

Bannon is a detriment. He brings nothing of value aside from his connection to the alt-right, so the fact Trump hasn't kicked his fat ass out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue tells me a lot where Trump's true interests are. Making his white nationalist base happy above all else.

The dangerous part is just how wishy-washy Trump is -- so easily swayed with a tweet or cable news story or anonymous memo left on his desk. Jokes aside, I firmly believe that Ivanka could've talked him out his meltdown today -- which is ridiculous. Republican or Democrat, you always knew where the POTUS was coming from. They had, you know, beliefs. Convictions. Over this last Korea crisis that Trump brought about, I wasn't terribly worried about Kim doing anything stupid. But Dear Leader, OTOH....

    That's gotta burn Trump's ass

Trump is a garden variety narcissist. He craves validation above all else, so the fact the most recent ex-president is more relevant on Twitter than him no doubt chaps his hide something fierce.

We don't have them in So Cal, Cub. Honestly, I was unaware Confederate monuments even existed to this degree. And yes, our founders were stained with sin, but they weren't enemies of the United States, and their monuments are for honoring that aspect of their lives. Not the slave owning side.

    Confederate figures? ZERO redeeming qualities.
Matters not. I've never heard a peep out of you about these statues in all the years we've been here together.

In fact I've never heard one word from any member of these Boards in all the years I've been here till this week.

Holy . People are still trying to invoke "historical value" as an excuse to keep these so-called monuments up?

    Let's unpack this.

Most of the these monuments were erected some 50-60 years after the end of the civil war mainly as a petty defiant gesture to them "damn Yankees."

    https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...uments/479751/

Furthermore, they are basically confederate propaganda that aims to paint the Confederacy in a positive and heroic light ("Honoring those boys in gray"). Maybe they're heroic to redneck southerners who are still immensely pissed off about "losing the war of Northern aggression" 150 years ago, but to the majority of Americans, even in the South, those men were enemies of the United States of America. I agree we should keep the statues up if they're accurately labelled for what they are: misleading Southern propaganda. But that's not why people want them kept up. They want them kept because they're "proud" of their ancestors being traitors and standing up to, again, "them damn Yankees," Therefore, they have ZERO historical value.

And there's no equivalency to draw with Washington, Jefferson, etc. They were men of fault, sure, but their redeeming value is, I don't know, founding the in' United States.

And most of these statues are barely old enough to even quality as antiques. They're worthless to everyone expect salty rednecks who like drunkedly shouting, "The south will rise again," as they their sister.

Anyway hope everyone enjoyed the worst day in US Presidential History.

What a time to be alive!
Talk about an overreaction. Pretty sure the day FDR started the internment camps is still the worst day in presdential history.
